Walkway from Polynesian Village Resort to Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Did you know there’s a walking path that leads you from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa?
The path used to allow guests to take a scenic route alongside of Seven Seas Lagoon, where you would pass each resort’s little beach area, as well as Disney’s Wedding Pavilion.
Due to the ongoing construction of the new Disney Vacation Club Tower at Polynesian Village Resort, pictured above, the path was rerouted back in September 2022.
At this time, there is no re-opening date in sight for the older walkway route.
The newer, temporary path starts behind the Aotearoa building at the Polynesian. It wraps around the Disney Vacation Club Tower construction.
The path forks off between the Fiji and Aotearoa buildings. There are signs along the walkway that guide you where to go. The sign at this junction, tells you to stay on the left path.
The easiest way to access the path and follow it, is to walk through the Grand Ceremonial House building and walk out through the automatic doors near Trader Sam’s and continue walking straight. There are signs every so often to keep you on the correct path.
The walkway will take guests along Floridian Way and towards the Grand Floridian DVC parking lot.
As you walk along Floridian Way, you will see the occasional monorail passing by on your right. On your left, across the street, you’ll see the newly reimagined Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.
Please be advised that guests using this walkway will have to use extreme caution. Due to ongoing construction in the surrounding areas, guest will have to share the walkway with utility golf carts, and construction vehicles.
Once you’ve crossed Floridian Way, and made your way through the Grand Floridan Disney Vacation Club parking lot gates, continue on to one of the many Grand Floridian buildings.
The walkway used to continue on to take guests to Magic Kingdom, but due to the ongoing construction on the Sago Cay building at the Grand Floridian, the pathway is currently closed.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing a long refurbishment. As we mentioned earlier, construction is focused on the Sago Cay building near the walkway connecting the resort to Magic Kingdom, as well as on Narcoosee’s. The walkway is closed during construction.
Construction materials are staged on the lawn at the back of the Sago Cay building. Construction walls are around the edge of the lagoon, as pictured above.
