Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. has been transformed into Tomorrowland Launch Depot and serves as the TRON Lightcycle Run gift shop. It will open to all guests tomorrow, but today only guests with (canceled) Identity Disc Program reservations were allowed inside.
Tomorrowland Launch Depot – Exterior
It’s located between TRON and Space Mountain. There are entrances from the main Tomorrowland walkway and the exit walkway from TRON Lightcycle / Run.
The exterior retheming has been minimal compared to the total gutting of the inside, but many key decor elements were removed or modified.
The 1994 Tomorrowland gears and electrical tower mural have been removed. The clock has been repainted and the decorative gears were removed. It sports a new color scheme with deep navy and gold — reminiscent of the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary color scheme. The ride was originally set to debut for the 50th anniversary in October 2021, but due to delays primarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was unable to be completed on time.
The triangular windows on the sides were also removed. Large glass windows now showcase TRON merchandise.
Interior
Mobile checkout is available via the My Disney Experience app.
Red and blue lighting reminiscent of the iconic TRON aesthetic lines the walls.
There is still a Fuel Rod station inside.
Displays are out for the delayed Identity Disc Program experience, where guests will be able to customize an action figure to their face and voice.
There are hexagons galore, from the floor tiles (as pictured below) to the wallpaper and surfaces.
