REVIEW: Kakamora DOLE Whip Waffle Bowl Returns for Halfway to Halloween 2023 at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Walt Disney World is resurrecting a few 50th Anniversary treats for this year’s Halfway to Halloween celebration, it seems. From Pineapple Lanai at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, they’re serving the returning Kakamora DOLE Whip Waffle Bowl, inspired by the creatures from “Moana.”

DOLE Whip is always good, but even better with some added crunch.

The salty and sweet flavors from the chocolate-covered pretzel rods are amazing.

The white chocolate medallion face is a good size and not too sweet. Plus it captures the look of those kooky Kakamora pretty well.

Pair all that with the crunch of the waffle bowl and this is pineapple heaven! A must for anyone craving a DOLE Whip but can’t get all the way out to the Magic Kingdom.

We love the design of the treat as well, recalling the Kakamora. For those who don’t know, the Kakamora are minor antagonists in “Moana” who wear armor made of coconuts. They find her and Maui on their voyage across the seas to restore the Heart of Te Fiti and attempt to steal the jewel just as her quest is kicking off in earnest. Kakamora inhabit large floating vessel cities made of trash and floatsam and are even referred to as “murdering little pirates” by Maui despite their cutesy appearance.
