In order to properly celebrate Halfway to Halloween, we headed to the Contempo Café within Disney’s Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World to taste the new Madame Leota Dark Chocolate Cake. Let’s take a closer look at this rich dessert!
Madame Leota Dark Chocolate Cake – $6.29
Mini Devil’s Food Cake filled with Dark Chocolate Ganache topped with Chocolate Glaze and Marshmallow Webs
This treat can be found at the Contempo Café in Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
The dessert is a mini Devil’s Food Cake filled with dark chocolate ganache, topped with chocolate glaze, a marshmallow web, fondant flower, and a white chocolate Madame Leota medallion.
First off, we would say this treat is a great size for the value! $6.29 seems more than fair for the amount of cake you get.
The cake itself is a bit on the dense side. When we think of Devil’s Food Cake, a light chocolate cake generally comes to mind. This one is very dense, but it’s good. Nothing spectacular.
The webs and sprinkles at the bottom add a nice texture to the cake.
The purple rose on top has a basic fondant taste. One bite of that rose is more than enough for us since it’s super sweet.
The marshmallow webs are a nice touch. We can definitely taste the marshmallow.
We think the chocolate ganache inside is what is really makes the cake feel extra dense. The ganache is a bit hard to cut through without getting stuck. If you are a dark chocolate fan though, we do think it’s delicious and adds a nice additional chocolate layer.
Overall, to us there is nothing special about this cake and we aren’t sure we’d come back for it, but if you are in the mood for a classic chocolate cake dessert, then it’s a nice quick bite.
