If you’ve been on team “Harmonious barges be gone” then you’re going to want to read this!

For a while, one central barge and 4 side barges have called World Showcase Lagoon their home in EPCOT, blocking the view through World Showcase (much to the dismay and frustration of many Disney guests). These barges were critical for the Harmonious fireworks show. But that show has ended and Disney has announced that the barges will be going away (they’ll be removed in phases). We’ve seen the barges removed from the EPCOT map, but now we’ve got a big update.

In case you’re curious, there were 4 side barges before (as shown in the OLD EPCOT map below). The barge that has been removed is the one near Italy and Germany. If you’re coming from World Celebration toward World Showcase, it would be the one in the back left.

Now, that doesn’t mean that all of the barges are gone…yet.

Several barges still remain, including that large circular one in the center.

Disney had announced that these would be removed in phases, so we’ll keep an eye out for updates.

For the time being, if you visit EPCOT at night you’ll find EPCOT Forever is showing as the nighttime spectacular.

Later this year, EPCOT Forever will be replaced by a NEW fireworks show!
