The “Saucy Secret” That Had Us Sliding Into McDonald’s DMs

McDonald’s fans get ready — some exciting news could be on the way.

We’ve seen all kinds of updates from McDonald’s lately, from news about changes to its iconic burgers to new Happy Meal toys and a limited-time snack. But this latest update had us sliding into McDonald’s DMs — sort of.

Recently, McDonald’s posted on Twitter about a “saucy secret” it had. The Tweet said “plz don’t text and ask me what it is,” so…of course, we HAD to text the number to get the details.

When we texted the number, we were met with a message about getting recurring marketing texts. Okay, okay, we totally knew this would be a marketing scheme but we’re still interested to see what secrets could be revealed!

After responding, we got some information for “the person who runs the McDonald’s account” and were asked to add them to our contacts. The number is the same as the one in the saucy secret Tweet. It had a McDonald’s logo as the contact image in a drawing form (sort of like kid-like scribbles).

Okay…We’re Starting

Then apparently “Brian from legal” prompted the contact to ask for our time zone. We responded to this and then got…silence. NOTHING! We even followed up with another message asking for a clue but did not receive a response.

So that’s where we’re at now — c’mon McDonald’s!!! Give us a hint!! From the image shared via social media, we can see that whatever sauce forms part of this secret appears to have a 2023 copyright symbol — that could mean that it’ll be something brand new.

It seems we weren’t the only ones getting in on the fun though. Other popular brands were chiming in about the “saucy secrets.” Triscuit posted a response and McDonald’s asked, “triscuit did you text me.”

And Auntie Anne’s suggested a pretzel fries and sauce combo, with McDonald’s responding that they could “see the vision.”

WhatsApp, Slim Jim, and even Wheat Thins got in on the action — but still, no saucy secrets have been revealed…yet.

McDonald’s did recently announce that MORE Big Mac sauce would be added to its Big Macs, marking a change for that sandwich. But what could this “saucy secrets” campaign be leading to? A new sauce? The return of an old popular sauce? Other sauce changes? We’ll have to wait and see.
