Looking to relive your thrilling journey through The Grid or a relaxing drink in a galaxy far, far away? Starting tomorrow, you can take yourself away to these wonderful worlds through your headphones, with music albums from both TRON Lightcycle Run and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming to music streaming services.
TRON Lightcycle Run
The TRON Lightcycle Run single releases tomorrow with the music of Joseph Trapanese composed and arranged especially for the attraction at both Shanghai Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom. There are two tracks:
- MK_GATEWAY, part of the entrance loop arrangement
- MK_GRID, the ride-through soundtrack
You can add this to your playlist on Spotify now, or listen to it on Apple Music starting at 12:00a.m. EDT.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Oga’s Cantina: R3X’s Playlist #2
This new album, also releasing tomorrow, completes the setlist of songs played by DJ R3X at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, of which the first half were released nearly four years ago! The first R3X’s Playlist album quietly released on August 23, 2019, shortly before the land opened at Walt Disney World, with the first half of his setlist. Last May at the parks panel in Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, Imagineers hinted that a second album would be “coming soon,” fulfilling that promise nearly a year later.
Here are the tracks on the new album:
- Squip by Kai Vokals
- Bight Size by CU on Naboo
- E.L.E.E. by Mon Destras and Slo-Kang
- Blue Milk Surprise by Loth-cats and R3X
- Ma Pateesa by The Sieemos
- Doolstan by Ewok Dis Way
- Shakawalla by Kushmara
- Til the Spire by Mus Kat and Nalpak
- After Hours at Oga’s by Bluetopian Blues
You can pre-save the album to Spotify now, or access it on Apple Music at 12:00a.m. EDT tonight.
Park music releases from the domestic resorts have been making something of a comeback after several years of quiet. Earlier this year, much of the Mickey’s Toontown loop at Disneyland was released on streaming, while “Harmonious” received a full soundtrack release in 2021, along with theme song releases for “Disney Enchantment” and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway among others.
TRON Lightcycle Run
TRON Lightcycle Run is located right behind Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. It’s outside the park’s berm, and is housed in a sweeping white canopy, which helps hide a boxy show building. A walkway between Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus is also available.
Guests enter by walking under the canopy, known as the Upload Conduit. Upon uploading to The Grid, guests will join Team Blue in a race to cross through eight energy gates before the opposing Team Orange.
As you approach the entrance, there are two TRON ride vehicles to the left. They serve two purposes – so you can try them out and know what to expect when you get inside, and they provide a nice photo op.
We previously reported that some individuals have reported issues with being able to fit into the ride vehicles, so this is a great place to try them out and make sure.
There are double-sided lockers before the load area so guests can safely stow their personal belongings. Lockers are unlocked with MagicBands or plastic ticket cards; MagicMobile tickets on smartphones do not work, and guests without physical ticket media must request a white RFID card from Cast Members.
You can see our full queue and POV ride video of TRON Lightcycle Run below.
