The Disney v. Ron DeSantis battle has escalated to new heights over the last week, with both parties making moves to secure their best position in the turf war for power. A late-night Wall Street Journal article details former United States President Donald Trump backing The Walt Disney Company yesterday, taking aim at the Florida Governor’s management, calling it a “political stunt.”
Reuters via MSN also reported that former New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, joined the effort, criticizing Governor DeSantis for his handling of the feud with the theme park giant. “I’m a conservative, and I believe as a conservative, the job of the government is… to stay out of the business of business,” Christie said when reportedly speaking with website Semafor in an interview this week. “I don’t think Ron DeSantis is a conservative based on his actions towards Disney,” he continued.
All three political figures (Trump, Christie, and DeSantis) are expected to make a run for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
