If you’re anything like me, you love shopping around the World Showcase at EPCOT. It’s no secret that the merchandise has gone downhill in some shops over the years; Norway, I’m looking at you. The Mexico Pavilion is still one of those places where you can find authentic and vibrant merchandise that properly showcase the country’s culture.
I recently walked through the pavilion, and a few pieces of merchandise caught my eye, and I just wanted to share them with you in hopes that you will check some of them out on your next trip. First, I want to discuss the wood carvers by the fountain next to the KidCot station. These incredible, talented artists create masterpieces that are worth stopping to look at. Everything they make is incredibly detailed; it blows my mind.
The next section of the pavilion is where you find merchandise carts. Some of them have Disney merchandise that is themed to the pavilion, but there are some carts with authentic Mexican items. As I walked around, I started a shopping list, and the fancy margarita glasses they sell are at the top of that list, along with the mini sombrero.
They have two shops on the left side of the pavilion that offer a few things you could find in other Disney parks, but I think it’s worth mentioning them. La Tienda Encantada recently got some new merchandise dedicated to the hit film Coco, but the charm and beauty of old Mexico still inspire a few unique items in the store.
The other shop is La Princesa de Cristal by Arribas Brothers. Here guests can find beautiful crystal art, jewelry, and crowns. Be sure to walk through because you might see the crystal artist creating a new piece of art.
I highly recommend taking some time before or after riding Gran Fiesta Tour to check out the different shops in the Mexico pavilion. If you enjoy adult beverages, here’s a pro tip: grab one of those as you shop to make it a leisurely experience, but warning it may encourage you to buy some merchandise. What store in World Showcase is your favorite to shop at? Let us know!
