Though Pacific Wharf is currently under construction to be reimagined as San Fransokyo inside Disney California Adventure, certain locales within the reimagined land are expected to remain much of the same when the transformation is concluded. New paintings advertising Lucky Fortune Cookery and Cocina Cucamonga are up, which may be a less-than-subtle assurance that there is no intention to remove these two eateries any time soon.
San Fransokyo Construction Progress
San Fransokyo is the primary setting for the 2014 Disney animated film “Big Hero 6,” drawing inspiration from the architecture and cultural sensibilities of San Francisco and Tokyo. New advertisements for these existing Pacific Wharf dining locations have been included among newly installed, themed banners during construction.
On the left of three new advertising graphics, the Lucky Fortune Cookery is included among the San Fransokyo construction. Cocina Cucamonga is also advertised and can be seen on the green banner in the middle.
The third piece of promotional wall art, featured on the right, highlights the new Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería.
The new Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería draws inspiration from its tri-cultural influences with signage in English, Japanese and Spanish. Outside will be a fun and inviting beer garden decorated with festoon lights and papel picado.
Themed notices are being propped up across the main façade, perhaps indicating this area’s re-theme will accelerate in the coming weeks and months. Construction is already well underway, and this most recent development is only another indicator of continued progress. The San Fransokyo Gate Bridge has reopened to guests following a several-week transformation.
Right now, the area is largely known as a food court for Disney California Adventure. Among Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, other options in the land include Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, Pacific Wharf Cafe, Rita’s Baja Blenders, and Pacific Wharf Distribution Co. When the construction is complete, the new version of the land will include a Baymax meet-and-greet, food, and more.
New Scaffolding and Construction at the Pacific Wharf Restrooms
Some major work is commencing in the restroom area that has been mostly untouched in the re-theme until now.
As we mentioned previously, no ride is currently planned for the area, though you can experience The Happy Ride with Baymax if you’re willing to visit Tokyo Disneyland!
