VIDEO: Go INSIDE a Disney College Program Apartment

With the recently announced wage increases for Disney College Program (DCP) participants, it might be more tempting than ever to apply for this unique opportunity.

From working in the parks and wearing special costumes to discounts, it’s safe to say College Program participants get quite a few benefits that go along with their hard work. And for many, the housing arranged by Disney and American Campus Communities is another unique part of the College Program. This resort-style apartment community is only minutes away from the theme parks, but what is it like inside? Let’s take a look!

Flamingo Crossings Village is the apartment complex that is available to Disney Programs Participants. Flamingo Crossings houses TONS of Disney employees. Ever wondered what the living situation is like for these folks? Well, now’s your chance to find out!

When you first walk into the apartments at Flamingo Crossings, you’ll enter the kitchen which comes complete with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, and dishwasher. Oh, and the cabinets come stocked with cookware (an assortment of pots and pans with lids) and some plates and cups (specifically they include dinner plates and bowls, dinner knives, spoons, and forks, drinking glasses, and trash & recycling bins).

At Flamingo Crossings, you’ll either be in a 2×2 (two bedrooms and two bathrooms with one shared common area)…

No matter what, each roommate gets their own sink and cabinet. The apartment also comes with a shower curtain liner or door.

If you’re in a 4×2 or 4×4, you’ll have your very own bedroom with a full-sized bed. If you’re in a 2×2, you’ll share a bedroom with one other person with two twin XL-sized beds. In 4-bedroom apartments, there are full XL beds.

Each room is complete with individual closets, side tables, mattresses, individual dressers, and a lockable drawer.

The website notes that “Four-bedroom apartments are extremely limited in number,” so just keep that in mind.

Common areas in the apartments are furnished with a TV (with an HDMI hookup), a coffee table, and an end table. There are also barstools and a sectional couch. And you’ll find a washer & dryer in-unit. So, what do you think? Are you ready to pack your bags and make some magic?

Some community amenities include an iMac bar, study rooms, a pool, a fitness center, a basketball court, a volleyball court, a gaming room, and grilling stations.

Here are some other key things to keep in mind:

  • “Flamingo Crossings Village does not provide a private apartment floor plan.” If you want a private apartment, they advise the following “you should instead secure your own housing accommodations. Please make sure to opt out of Program housing during DORMS registration.”
  • “Floor plans can be preferenced during registration.”
  • “Flamingo Crossings Village offers various modified apartments to meet accessible needs.”
  • “Approved assistance animals consistent with the Fair Housing Act (FHA) guidelines are welcomed at Flamingo Crossings Village.”
