All engravings have a maximum limit of 11 characters, letters only, with your name or any Harry Potter character’s name. There are some exceptions to this rule — the “Albus Dumbledore” engraving shown above is well over 11 characters, but specific wands with extra clear space may accommodate longer names. If something doesn’t fit, a nickname or truncated version might be required. Placement of any engravings will be toward the handle or in the middle, depending on the style.

No engravings can be done on old Ollivanders originals, non-interactive, or poplar wands. All others are eligible. Guests may not engrave a wand they already possess, and any desired engravings must be ordered on the same day as their purchase. If anyone does purchase a wand and decides to return later in the day for an added engraving, they must retain and present the box and receipt.

This sample has “English Oak” printed down toward the handle, showcasing the different potential locations for an engraving. Comparatively, the “Albus Dumbledore” sample has its text closer to the center.
