Here at Disney Food Blog, we know that the right sauce can truly make the meal.
And from cheesy sauces to curry, we have tried a lot — so we know a thing or two about the options around Disney World. Today, we are taking a full look at the favorite sauces our staff knows and loves around the park. Come sit with us!
Magic Kingdom
First, we have to start off with the famous CHEESE sauce we’re always talking about. Dip your pretzels in it, cover your ‘tots, add it to your corn nuggets — the possibilities of plastic cheese are endless!
For only $1, you can spruce up any old snack at most quick service locations around the park. And trust us, you should.
If you aren’t a fan of the plastic cheese variety, some locations — like Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe — have a Queso Blanco that is also a great addition to lots of snacks.
For only $1, that’s a great upgrade!
Recently, we also tried out a sauce based on a Magic Kingdom alien…Sonny Eclipse Signature Sauce! This sauce comes on the 1/3 lb Angus Bacon Cheeseburger at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
This burger sauce might be a little controversial — it does remind us of the flavors in deviled eggs. But, this Thousand Island-based sauce has fun notes of pickles and paprika. So, if that’s your jam — you should definitely check it out.
Lastly, at Main Street Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, you’ll find a little slice of heaven — the Peanut Butter Sauce.
Add it to an Ice Cream Sandwich, put it on your Sundae, or just drink it from the cup — we’re not judging! This stuff is GOLD, so if you’re a fan of peanut butter — do NOT miss out on this while you’re in Magic Kingdom.
EPCOT
At EPCOT, there’s a somewhat new dining location that has a signature sauce that we could put on everything. Connections Eatery opened in 2022, and ever since, we can’t stop thinking about its Zesty Signature Sauce.
This sauce reminded us of ranch sauce with a bit of dill and some zesty spice — and it is amazing! It’s a thinner sauce, almost like dressing, and it would go great with some Chicken Strips or a Fried Chicken Sandwich — but get creative! We would try this on all kinds of food.
In the World Showcase, Le Cellier Steakhouse in EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion has a Mushroom Filet Mignon that we are HUGE fans of. It’s served with a Truffle Butter Sauce that is to die for, and sometimes you can find it at the Food and Wine Festival.
We actually have the recipe for this top-tier sauce, so you can try it for yourself at home.
Further into the World Showcase, in the Germany Pavilion, there is a dessert we can’t get enough of at a hidden quick service location. Sommerfest has a relatively new dessert, the Pretzel Bread Pudding. It’s made with leftover pretzels and topped with caramel butterscotch and white cream sauce –YUM!
We wouldn’t be mad if they drenched this dessert in the sauce.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Over on Planet Batuu, Ronto Roasters serves a popular snack called the Ronto Wrap. It’s made with Roasted Pork, Grilled Pork Sausage, Peppercorn Sauce, Tangy Slaw, and wrapped in soft Pita. This thing is all-around a good option — but guys, we need to talk about the Peppercorn Sauce.
It is creamy and amazing, and adds the perfect touch to this unique snack — and they even serve it for breakfast! The Ronto Morning Wrap has scrambled eggs, grilled pork sausage, shredded cheese, and peppercorn sauce. Give it a shot!
We can’t leave Disney’s Hollywood Studios without talking about cheese. The Beer Cheese Fondue at Baseline Taphouse is served with the Coffee-Rubbed Rib-Eye Steak Puff as well as with the Bavarian Pretzel.
This sauce isn’t as thick as some other beer cheeses you may have had at other locations, but it is still very tasty.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
In Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there’s a little quick service location with a small menu but a lot of flavor — Mr. Kamal’s. Here you’ll find Mr. Kamal’s Seasoned Fries, and they come with your choice of Curried Honey Mustard or Korean Chili Ketchup.
They are both delicious, but we are partial to the Korean Chili Ketchup. Keep in mind that this spot has changed the available sauce list from time to time, so these two might not always be there — but most of the sauces here deserve a shoutout.
Lastly, one of our favorite counter service locations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is Flame Tree Barbecue. Here, you’ll find some barbecue classics — the Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich, Baked Macaroni and Cheese with pulled pork, and a Barbecue Sampler to name a few.
No matter what you choose, grab some extra barbecue sauce — because it is good.
Disney Springs
You know we have to stop at Disney Springs on our sauce journey. Chicken Guy! alone has 22(!!) different sauces to choose from.
Here, we really like the Nashville Hot Honey Sauce and the Bourbon Brown Sugar BBQ. Guy Fieri, the celebrity chef behind this spot, is partial to the Curry Mayo and Chipotle Ranch. But there are 22 to choose from — so grab a friend, mix ‘n’ match, and start sampling!
Another one of our favorite restaurants in Disney Springs — Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ — has a killer brunch. We love lots of items on this menu, but the Hush Puppy Benedict is a stand-out choice. It comes with house-made hush puppy cakes, fried chicken tenders, poached eggs, griddled country ham, and pimento hollandaise.
Yep, hollandaise and cheese are tied together in one heavenly sauce. Need we say more?
For dessert, we’re taking a look at another bread pudding. The Toffee Bread Pudding at House of Blues is something we can’t get enough of. The bread pudding itself is perfectly moist, with layers of custard-soaked bread and bits of toffee throughout.
It’s served on a sweet toffee sauce that is great — but the sauce on top? YUM! It’s a Whiskey Butter sauce that we could eat on its own — morning, noon, and night. Too extreme? Wait until you try it and then you can judge. It’s that good.
Disney Resorts
There are quite a few great restaurant choices once you venture over to Disney’s resort hotels. Today, we’re looking at three that have some iconic sauces. First, Scat Cat’s Club Cafe serves up some beignets — and they are MICKEY-shaped! They come with your choice of dipping sauce: salted caramel, strawberry, or chicory chocolate ganache.
The chicory chocolate sauce is one some of our staff really love — a rich chocolate ganache with a New Orleans coffee flavor.
Over at Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Kidani Village, Sanaa is another star when it comes to sauces. Their iconic Indian-style Bread Service is served with NINE different dipping accompaniments.
Choose from Cucumber Raita, Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Mango Chutney, Tomato-Date Jam, Tamarind Chutney, Coriander Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Red Chile Sambal, and Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle.
We are fans of the Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus and the Mango Chutney, but there are tons of tasty sauces in this dish!
Lastly, we can’t wrap up this post without an homage to our beloved ‘Ohana Noodles.
These noodles are the stuff of our dreams, in large part due to that delicious teriyaki that it is tossed in. So, we love you, ‘Ohana Noodle sauce.
In fact, we love you THIS much!
