We love surprises — especially in Disney World!
EPCOT
When it comes to Disney World construction projects, things are almost always a mystery. When will things open? When will they close? It’s often pretty hard to guess! During our most recent trip to EPCOT, we stumbled upon a surprise soft opening over by Test Track!
The Refreshment Station in EPCOT had a soft opening! Without a little context, you might not be able to place this snack spot (admittedly, the history of this location is a little confusing!). Refreshment Station was formerly known as Cool Wash, and you can find it over by Test Track.
It’s open!
This spot opens and closes seasonally, and sometimes it is used as a shaded area to eat your festival snacks! In the past, we’ve ordered Create-Your-Own Slushies here. Here’s what it looked like back when it was known as Cool Wash in 2021.

It’s a mysterious location, so when we noticed that it closed for refurbishment, we couldn’t wait to see what would be on the new menu! During the soft opening, there were two frozen slushy flavors available: Coca-Cola and Fanta Banana.

Good news! The toppings are back, too! You can get Pop Rocks, rock candy, gummy worms, and other candies on any slushy on the menu. Oh, and those toppings are FREE to add to your drink — woohoo!

Now, both the Coca-Cola slushy and the Fanta Banana slushy are not new to this location. We’ve seen these flavors available at previous EPCOT festivals. In fact, we’ve even tried SPIKED slushies here in the past.
Looks like there’s room for one more flavor in the machines — we’ll keep our eyes out!
The Fanta Banana Frozen Slushy is topped with caramel and blueberries. It’s available for $6.

It may sound a little strange, but we ended up really enjoying this treat! It was nice and light and refreshing. The caramel topping wasn’t super noticeable, but it went well with that sweet banana flavor. (It sunk to the bottom, though, so we didn’t really taste it at first)
YUM!
This is a great kid-friendly treat that is perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day! If you love banana-flavored treats, give this a try! If you’re not a fruit lover, you can skip this one.
