TRON Cast Member
Disney World Cast Members received a new upgrade to their costumes. Disney frequently updates Cast Member uniforms, like the time they changed the Photopass photographer shirts. This new change is pretty small, so you’ll have to really look hard to find it!
Starting on May 16th, 2023, you’ll have a new reason to stop and say “hello” to a Cast Member. Disney World has said goodbye to the old 50th anniversary EAR-idescent Cast Member name tags and has introduced a new design!
New look to Cast Member name tags
This isn’t the first we’ve heard of them before though! We’ve known they were coming for a while, but now they’re officially in the parks. The new design is inspired by twinkling stars and pixie dust magic. The new design was dreamed up by costume designer Joshua Winchester. You can check out a video of the name tags being created here!

When asked about the design Joshua had this to say: “The singular, golden star above Cinderella Castle represents our cast who are the guiding light of the Walt Disney World Resort.” He finished by saying, “The field of stars represents that little sprinkling of pixie dust our cast carry while making magic for our guests.”

We stopped and talked to a few Cast Members on our visit out to the parks today, and they were happy to show them off to us. The new name tags still display the Cast Members’ hometowns below their names, which can be a great conversation starter!
