Memorial Day is almost here!
Disney World usually has some special celebrations for the holidays like unique meet and greets or holiday parades. You can also expect the parks to be quite busy on the holidays and with Memorial day approaching, those busy crowds might change how expensive it is to skip the lines.
Get ready for Memorial Day Weekend, because Genie+ might put a dent in your wallet with the upcoming holiday. With Memorial Day falling on Monday, May 29th in 2023, brace yourself for increased Genie+ prices leading up to and throughout the entire weekend.
Since the addition of surge pricing to Genie+, we’ve seen its cost vary wildly all depending on the specific day you choose to visit due to the size of the crowds that are expected to come to the parks. Let’s look into the data to see what kind of trend there’s been to those Genie+ prices.
Genie+ hit $29 on all of the following holiday periods…
- March 27th, 2023 (spring break, plus near the end of the 50th)
- March 12th-March 17th, 2023 (peak spring break time)
- February 18th-February 20th, 2023 (around President’s Day)
- December 23rd, 2022-January 3rd, 2023 (around New Year’s Eve)
- November 21st-26th, 2022 (around Thanksgiving)
…and then hit a high price of $35 for Easter:
- April 4th-14th, 2023 (around Easter)
If Genie+ hit a high of $35 for the dates surrounding Easter, it stands to reason that it could hit that same price (or be even more expensive) around Memorial Day too. Now, let’s look into how much the park ticket will cost as well.
On Memorial day (May 29th) a 1-day, 1-park ticket starts at $154 (this is the same price it was for Easter). Also, keep in mind that 1-day, 1-park tickets have a different price model depending on which park you want to visit.
The 1-day, 1-park ticket prices for Memorial Day range from $154 to $174.
Our biggest recommendation is to be prepared for a higher price for Genie+ around Memorial day, so make sure to plan accordingly if you’re looking to skip those lines!
