The Disney100 Decades 1920’s Collection MagicBand+ themed to the classic “Steamboat Willie” cartoon is now available at the Magic Kingdom.
Disney100 Decades Collection Steamboat Willie MagicBand+ – $64.99
We spotted the limited edition Steamboat Willie MagicBand+ at Big Top Souvenirs in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. They were originally released on shopDisney as part of the Disney100 Decades 1920’s Collection back in February.
This MagicBand+ is designed in black and white, in the vein of the classic “Steamboat Willie” cartoon from 1928, which introduced the world to Mickey Mouse. The center design of the MagicBand features Mickey steering the boat and whistling that famous tune that you hear at the beginning of Disney movies.
The band features the “Disney100” logo, along with a picture of the boat and hot-headed Captain Pete.
The box features a purple and “platinum” design — which are the official colors for the 100th Anniversary celebration. The box also has a “Disney100” logo on it and the word “Decades” as it is a part of the Decades Collection. As we mentioned before, this MagicBand+ is Limited Edition — only 4,300 of them were made.
On the side of the box, again we see the “Disney100” hologram along with “Decades.” There is also a small sticker that informs the buyer that the MagicBand+ works with Amazon’s Alexa devices.
The back of the box features a small paragraph that pays homage to Steamboat Willie. It says:
“Full steam ahead! Premiering November 18, 1928, the famous Steamboat Willie cartoon introduced the icon we all know and love, Mickey Mouse. This black and white film was also the first cartoon to use fully synchronized sound. With a charming whistling lead at the help and the introduction of new audio technology, this filmed steered The Walt Disney Company to immense success.”

Disney100 Celebration
As previously announced, Disney100 will be celebrated at EPCOT with Mickey and Minnie in their platinum outfits and a platinum Mickey sculpture. A new Spectacle of Light show will debut on Spaceship Earth and, in late 2023, a new nighttime spectacular will premiere to replace “Harmonious.” Journey of Water, CommuniCore Hall, World Celebration Garden, and Dreamers Point are all scheduled to open in late 2023 at EPCOT.
Mirabel will have a meet and greet at Magic Kingdom beginning “this fall” in the Fairytale Garden. She will be replacing Merida, and the area will be redesigned to look like the Casita Madrigal.
The 100 Years of Wonder celebration is in full swing at Disneyland Resort, where guests can enjoy “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland and “World of Color – ONE” at Disney California Adventure. The platinum Mickey sculpture at EPCOT will presumably be the same as the one at Disneyland, which had to be fixed because the Walt Disney quote on the base was incorrect. Disneyland also has a platinum Minnie statue.
Disneyland Resort will offer the “Celebrating Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort” guided tour, including a walk through both parks, the drawing experience at Animation Academy, a digital download of a photo taken in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, a Disney100 snack, reserved viewing for “Magic Happens” parade, and a limited-edition pin.
