A fan-favorite purchase for many visitors who stay at the Disney World hotels are the refillable mugs.
These mugs can be purchased for $21.99, and then refilled for free at any Disney World hotel for the length of your hotel stay, up to 14 days. You can fill your mug with soft drinks, coffee, or tea. If you’re hoping to purchase a new mug and are curious about all the places you can refill it, we’ve got you covered!
When Disney World started its refillable mug program, it was specific to the resort where you purchased the mug. If you bought a mug at the Caribbean Beach Resort, for instance, you could only refill it there. That all changed when Disney started offering the same mug design through Disney World — the first of those was a “Year of a Million Dreams” mug in 2006.
So now, you can carry your refillable mug with you if you are resort hopping, and refill in the quick service location at any hotel!
Remember, though that your mug is equipped with an RFID chip that works with the beverage refill stations. It will only work for those 14 days after you buy it. Additionally, there is a waiting period of a couple of minutes between refills — this is probably to deter you from dumping your refills into a larger container.
Also keep in mind that you cannot use your refillable mugs in any Disney theme park. The water parks (Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach) have their own refillable mugs, but the one you bought at your resort won’t work there, and vice versa.
A resort refillable mug can be a great way to save during your vacation if you are a regular coffee or soda drinker. But it’s only going to save you money if you use it! You should consider requesting a room at your resort near the quick-service location, if you are planning to fill up a lot!
This post will outline ALL of the places at Disney World that you can refill your mug so that you aren’t scrambling to find all the locations during your next trip. Let’s go!
