If you’ve visited Disney World recently, you’ve probably seen a LOT of construction. It seems like a lot of the resort is currently a work in progress.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
EPCOT is still undergoing its massive multi-year transformation. A classic Disney ride is getting completely reimagined over in Magic Kingdom. And Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting some brand new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas. We’ve seen the progress really moving along on this expansion and now we’ve got another update for you.
When we last checked in, we were continuing to watch the progress of what seems to be the main building and a side building at the DVC Villas construction site. Here’s what the main building looked like just a few weeks ago.

…and early May! Things are REALLY moving along here. It looks even compared to just a few days ago, we’ve got some additions on the top-right portion of the building with more things being built out.

There’s plenty of construction equipment on the site and the construction workers have been VERY busy recently. We’re just watching this thing grow and grow.

And there’s a SECOND structure taking shape here, too!

This one has quite literally doubled in size compared to where we saw it not long ago in late April.

This one is now at around 4 main floors with more work being done on the top — we’ll be interested to see just how tall it’ll get.

There’s also still quite a bit of land that hasn’t been developed here yet, although it looks like it’s being prepared for some new things. Quite a lot of pipes remain in this area just waiting to be placed into their correct positions.

These new villas are expected to open in late 2024 and they’ll be “inspired by the early concepts for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort,” according to Disney.

In addition to bringing more rooms to the resort, this expansion will also bring new recreation offerings and dining options.
