If you’ve ever taken a trip to one of the Disney parks, you know how quickly plans can change. No matter how carefully you strategize your day, you never know what could throw a wrench in your plans. From unexpected bad weather to sudden ride closures, we’ve seen it all!
Luckily, Disneyland Resort guests will have a little more flexibility thanks to a NEW Park Pass Reservation System change. If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland — listen up!
First, let’s get the introductions out of the way. Disney’s Park Pass Reservation System was designed to monitor the crowds in the Disney parks by allowing guests to make a theme park reservation for one park per day in advance.
Since the system was created back in 2020, guests in Disneyland have had limited options if they want to modify their Park Pass reservations after booking them on My Disney Experience. For example, if you booked a reservation for Disney California Adventure but changed your mind a few weeks later, the only way to switch your reservation was to cancel your existing reservation and re-book a new one. The process wasn’t exactly user-friendly.
During a busy holiday, it was risky to cancel your reservation, as guests were worried they would be stuck without a Park Pass after canceling their original reservation. Good news, Disneyland guests; that’s all about to change!
Starting NOW, Disneyland Resort guests can modify the park or date associated with their theme park reservations on the Disneyland website WITHOUT having to cancel the reservation first. (Subject to theme park reservation availability and applicable block-out dates)
Disney explained that you can make modifications to your theme park reservations up to the day of your reservation before entering the park. Magic Key holders will continue to have a one-day modification window.
Speaking of Park Pass Reservations System changes, Disney World guests will soon no longer need to book a reservation at all! Disney shared that Park Pass Reservations will not be required for those who have date-based tickets. This change will take place starting January 9th, 2024.
We’re hoping that this change will make things a little easier for guests going to Disneyland. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more!
