Newly Reimagined Pixar Place is Open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Pixar Place at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been closed for a couple of years. On May 14th, it finally reopened. The most exciting part is that most of that area got reimagined while they were getting ready to reopen this area.

If you are unfamiliar with this section of the park, it is located behind Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and across from Walt Disney Presents. This is all before you enter Toy Story Land. Here guests can find all kinds of fun stuff like cookies and meet and greets!

New Theming

The newly reimagined space lost a bit of its Municiberg theming and now has more of a general Pixar overlay.

Of course, they added some Easter eggs to the area. We saw one on the bricks on something that looked like a steel container. It shows the year that Pixar was founded and the Cal Arts animation room number. Okay, now that we got an Easter egg out of the way, let’s move into more of the fun stuff.

Character Meet & Greets

The Edna Mode Experience is back! This is definitely the main attraction of this area for obvious reasons. Edna is an amazing and iconic character from The Incredibles. She will be meeting guests each day from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Guests will also be able to meet Mr. and Mrs. Incredible and the one and only, Frozone. These beloved characters will be meeting throughout the day, so be sure to check the My Disney Experience app for all details.

For all of the Monsters Inc. fans, you’ll also be able to meet Sulley here. Unfortunately, Sulley isn’t listed on the My Disney Experience app currently.

As of right now, these are the only meet and greets that are available in this section. I hope they add more characters here eventually from Pixar. I would love to see Russell and Dug from Up! make an appearance at some point, or even characters from Coco.

Dining Options

The Neighborhood Bakery has reopened! This was where guests could initially order several snacks like the Lime Cheesecake on a Stick. Currently, they only serve the Jack-Jack’s Num Num Cookies and Popcorn. While Pixar Place was closed, they were selling the fan-favorite cookies at the Jofferys location right outside the area. We are just glad that they are back in Pixar Place. The cookies cost $5.79 before tax, which is a decent size, big enough to share.

Overall Thoughts

I am so happy that this area is open again. Now our favorite Pixar characters have more permanent homes. Frozone and Edna Mode were meeting guests from a distance on Hollywood Boulevard. Near Echo Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible were meeting guests. Sulley was meeting in a small room in the back of Walt Disney Presents for the longest time. If you could add one more Pixar character to the mix, who would you add? Let us know!
