Tonight is the final nighttime lights performance at Hogwarts Castle before its extended refurbishment period at Universal Orlando Resort.
Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle
“The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade in Universal’s Islands of Adventure will close for an extended refurbishment for “future show enhancements.” Its last performance, for the time being, will be tonight, May 9.
The show features magical projections using Hogwarts Castle as a canvas, accompanied by music, lighting, and more. In the above photo, you can see the house crest and colors illuminated on the Castle to represent Hufflepuff.
A dark and ominous green light is cast across Hogwarts to represent the Slytherin house. You can also see the house crest with its symbol — the serpent — in the center of it.
The Castle is then lit up with red and displays the house color and crest for Gryffindor — the house of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger.
Universal describes the popular nighttime show: “Come experience a dazzling spectacle of music and lights. On select nights, watch in awe from Hogsmeade village as projections are cast against the majestic backdrop of the castle. Embrace your Hogwarts pride as the four houses are celebrated in stunning light and sound. It’s a beautiful way to end your day at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.”
“The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” occurs on select nights beginning at dusk and runs approximately every twenty minutes at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. Be sure to check the official Universal Orlando Resort app or website for more information.
Tonight not only marks the final “Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle” as we know it, but it also marks the final performance of Poseidon’s Fury — another beloved attraction at Islands of Adventure.
