During a recent visit to the Magic Kingdom, we found a NEW accessory that was practically CALLING our name. Sadly, Disney hasn’t created any Karamell-KücheCaramel Butter Bar merch yet (if you know, you know.), but we did manage to find another SWEET new item. Let’s check it out!
They’re warm, they’re sugary — they’re a Disney classic! That’s right, we found CHURRO EARS in Disney World! Let’s take a moment to admire them. (Don’t stare too long, you might start craving a churro!)
Churro Minnie ears
These Mickey-shaped churros are covered in chocolate, which (in our opinion) is the BEST way to enjoy a churro. When in doubt, add chocolate, right? Just look at that detail! They look so good that you can practically SMELL that sugary goodness.
They look good enough to EAT!
In the center of the ears, there’s a sparkly white bow. It complements the ears perfectly! Can you tell we are VERY excited about our new churro ears?
They’re HERE! Churro ears have arrived in Magic Kingdom! They’re even complete with cinnamon-sugar and chocolate! pic.twitter.com/XUkR6gBzPm
As you can see, these ears look good from EVERY angle — even the back.
They look good from ALL angles!
We found these beauties at theEmporium on Main Street, U.S.A in the Magic Kingdom, but we’ve also heard that they are available in a few other stores around Disney World, like Creations in EPCOT. You can pick up a pair of your own for $34.99. As a little side note, these ears are HEAVY, so be prepared for a slight neck workout. What can we say — we keep it real here, people.
We’re in love.
Well, now we’re hungry. Time for a snack? In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more!

The new chocolate-dunked churro ear headband is now available at Walt Disney World Resort. We found these new snack-inspired Minnie ears at the Emporium in Magic Kingdom. The ear headband will be available on shopDisney in a few days.
Churro Ear Headband – $34.99
The ears resemble two chocolate-dipped churros curled into circles. They are made of hard plastic, with chunky glitter resembling sugar.
A sparkly white Minnie bow sits between the churro ears.
The headband is chocolate-brown and also covered with sugar sparkles.
Will you be wearing these churro ears during your next Disney trip? Let us know in the comments.
Churros are a popular snack food at Disney Parks. They were first introduced at Disneyland in the 1960s and are now available at Disney Parks around the world.
Churros are made of dough that is piped into long, thin strips and then deep-fried. The churros are then dusted with sugar and cinnamon and served warm. They can be eaten plain or with a variety of toppings, such as chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, or powdered sugar. Seasonal varieties are often made available, for holidays or to celebrate intellectual properties.

Disney World usually has some special celebrations for the holidays like unique meet and greets or holiday parades. You can also expect the parks to be quite busy on the holidays and with Memorial day approaching, those busy crowds might change how expensive it is to skip the lines.
Get ready for Memorial Day Weekend, because Genie+ might put a dent in your wallet with the upcoming holiday. With Memorial Day falling on Monday, May 29th in 2023, brace yourself for increased Genie+ prices leading up to and throughout the entire weekend.
Since the addition of surge pricing to Genie+, we’ve seen its cost vary wildly all depending on the specific day you choose to visit due to the size of the crowds that are expected to come to the parks. Let’s look into the data to see what kind of trend there’s been to those Genie+ prices.
Genie+ hit $29 on all of the following holiday periods…
March 27th, 2023 (spring break, plus near the end of the 50th)
March 12th-March 17th, 2023 (peak spring break time)
February 18th-February 20th, 2023 (around President’s Day)
December 23rd, 2022-January 3rd, 2023 (around New Year’s Eve)
If Genie+ hit a high of $35 for the dates surrounding Easter, it stands to reason that it could hit that same price (or be even more expensive) around Memorial Day too. Now, let’s look into how much the park ticket will cost as well.
Our biggest recommendation is to be prepared for a higher price for Genie+ around Memorial day, so make sure to plan accordingly if you’re looking to skip those lines!
Whew. We know that planning a Disney World trip is A LOT. And this Genie+ thing can be so confusing – which is why we bring you posts like this so often. But we’ve also put together a complete guide to planning a Disney World trip, including month-by-month instructions.
Did you know that you can find Disney bags in all shapes and sizes?
Mickey “The Band Concert” Loungefly Bag
We’ve seen Loungefly bags, Dooney & Bourke bags, and many, many others. And we wanted to remind you of some of the “tastiest” looking bags that you can find right now in Disney World.
EPCOT isn’t just home to foods from around the world, it also has all kinds of unique and “tasty” bags! We wanted to share a couple of them with you.
First up, you can grab this Remy and Emile Cheese Handbag for $24.99 at the Souvenirs de France shop in the France Pavilion. This adorable bag is shaped like a pyramid of cheese, with a square base and triangular sides.

Next up, don’t forget about the Mickey Pizza Purse over at La Bottega Italia in the Italy Pavilion. It’s the perfect bag for showing off your love for pizza and it retails for $39.99.

Lastly, this Oktoberfest Pretzel Purse can be found at both Stein Haus and Volkskunst in the Germany Pavilion. It’s ideal for your Oktoberfest festivities and even reads “Oktoberfest” on its back. It sells for $44.99.
Oktoberfest Pretzel Purse
No matter if you’re a cheese fan, pizza fan, or pretzel fan, you can find a bag that matches your taste the next time you’re in EPCOT. Chances are they’re not as tasty as the real thing, but they are pretty cute — just maybe don’t attempt to eat any of them.
On a recent visit to the Disney World parks, we had this very situation happen to us! We placed an order at a quick service location, and waited until it was time to say “I’m here”, but we may have accidentally waited too long.
Order times
On this particular occurrence, our arrival window ended at 11am and when we went to alert the app we were ready — at exactly 11 am — and have the location prepare our order…we realized we were too late!
However, we weren’t totally out of luck. We were able to recover our meal when we showed the cast members at the register our order number and they were able to manually fix it and went on to prepare our meal for pick up.
Breakfast Wrap
We’re wondering if this is just a one-off occurrence or if this could be a regular happening within the mobile order time windows. Admittedly, the item we ordered was only offered for the breakfast timeframe at this location so that could have been a factor in the mishap. A quick check with a few of our other reporters didn’t result in anyone else having a similar experience that stood out to them so it very well could be just that, but it’s definitely something to take note of for the next time you’re looking to use the mobile order feature on the app.
Your order is ready!
Our best advice to get around this is if you might be cutting it close to the window winding down, go into the mobile order and modify the time frame to give yourself a bit more time to click the “prepare my order” button so this doesn’t happen to you too! We’ll continue to watch this for the future but for the latest in Disney food news, stay with us at DisneyFoodBlog.

Today we are time-traveling to the 1950s for a meal and a show at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests will be able to enjoy all-American cuisine and various sci-fi movie clips. I grew up dining at this restaurant, so I already have a strong love for it, but it has been a while since I last ate here. When I say a while, I mean years. I am beyond excited about this experience because the restaurant recently added new plant-based options. This dining experience is listed as a unique/themed dining experience, and Disney also notes that reservations are accepted.
Before jumping into the food, I want to discuss the interior. The theming in here is my absolute favorite. When we used to eat here on vacation, it also made me feel like I somehow entered the movie Grease. There are cars that fill the location that serve as tables for guests. Small tables are available if you don’t want to sit in one of the cars.
It is also very dark inside the restaurant, so I apologize that some of these pictures are not the best. The seating and the lighting does not make for great photo spots regarding food. To me, the best part of the experience is the huge screen playing various trailers of sci-fi movies. Throughout the loop, Walt Disney appears, which always warms my heart.
Appetizers
I ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Dip with Cashew Cheese for my appetizer. This dip is made with a blend of spinach, artichoke, red peppers, cauliflower, cashew cheese, and oat milk, served with homemade chips. The best part is that this whole dish is plant-based. I had high hopes for this $13 dish, which didn’t meet my expectations. I did enjoy it, though.
What threw me off was that it was a bit on the sweeter side, but I think that’s because of the oat milk. I also wished that this dish’s red pepper pulled through more. Everything else about it was great. The consistency was perfect, making for an excellent dip for the french fries that came with my meal. If I had to rate it, I would give it a 6 out of 10.
Craig ordered the Sci-Fi smoked wings. This dish comprises smoked chicken wings tossed in a porter barbecue sauce with a house-made pineapple and poppy seed coleslaw. Unfortunately, this only came with four disappointing wings, especially since it cost $15. Craig said they were okay, and Ryno tried them and said he enjoyed the wings.
Ryno ordered the Fried Dill Pickles, served with ranch and horseradish dipping sauce. This dish cost $12 and came with a good amount of pickles. He also mentioned that the horseradish was the way to go regarding the dipping sauces. The biggest takeaway is that he would’ve rather had Craig’s appetizer.
Entrees
The primary food type here is burgers because you are at the drive-in. There’s nothing better than a burger and a milkshake while watching sci-fi movies.
I ordered the Flying Saucer Impossible Burger. This burger is made with a grilled plant-based burger, grilled portabello mushrooms, cashew mozzarella, garlic-tomato “aioli,” nut-free pesto, lettuce, and tomato, and costs $22.
This entire burger is plant-based, and no dairy can be found in this or other animal products. I really enjoyed this burger and am mad that I didn’t finish it. I just got so full quickly because I also ordered a milkshake with my burger. The milkshake I ordered was the Cookie Shake, made with plant-based milk and cookies topped with coconut whipped cream. This shake was delicious, and I would go back to get that. The shake cost $7, and I think it is 100% worth it. I would rate my burger an 8 out of 10, and the shake was perfection.
Craig ordered the Drive-in BBQ Burger, made with the signature blend of beef and house-made seasoning served on a brioche bun topped with 9-hour smoked pork, bourbon-bacon jam, cheddar, lettuce, and barbecue sauce. This jam-packed sandwich costs $23.
He upgraded his side to beer-battered onion rings, and they looked great from where I was sitting. Craig mentioned that he wished they had added some crunchy onions to the sandwich to give it that texture it was missing but that it was a good burger. He did share this with Ryno, and his only comment was that, at some points, it felt like all he was tasting was the flavor from the bourbon-bacon jam.
Ryno ordered the Pork on Pork Burger, which is made with grilled house-made pork patty topped with roasted pork belly, white sharp cheddar, caramelized onions, cabbage coleslaw, and a house-made Carolina mustard. When Ryno was talking about his $23 burger, he mentioned how he loves adding coleslaw to dishes like this because it adds texture to the sandwich. He also noted that Carolina mustard sauce really stood out to him.
Desserts
As I stated above, I ordered the plant-based shake, which I counted as my dessert even though I enjoyed it with my meal. I highly recommend ordering this shake if you are someone that eats plant-based. I grew up eating burgers and milkshakes, and I can do that here at Sci-Fi Dine-in makes me very happy.
Craig ordered the Out-of-this-World dessert served with pineapple mousse, passion fruit cosmic swirl, and a spiced lime spaceship garnished with a blood orange coulis. They don’t tell you that it comes on top of a massive piece of chocolate cake.
Craig tried each layer independently and said the chocolate cake was the worst part. He described it as being dense and dry, which is never good when it comes to cake. The pineapple mousse had more of a flan type of consistency which threw him off, but he did really enjoy the spiced lime spaceship. This confusing dessert that wasn’t out of this world cost $10.
Ryno ordered The Red Planet, a white chocolate cheesecake with spiced blueberry compote on graham cracker tart with a matcha sponge with golden candied almonds. His dessert of the two they ordered was clearly the winner. Ryno loved the blueberry compote that sat under the dessert and mentioned that he loves desserts with a graham cracker crust. This dessert is priced at $9.
Overall Thoughts
I came in already as a fan of Sci-Fi Dine-in and was very excited to dine here again. When I was younger, we used to visit this restaurant all the time, so stepping back into that space brought back so many memories for me. I grew up going to Johnny Rockets as a kid with my dad, where we’d get burgers and milkshakes, and when we came to Disney, this was our spot. On this trip, I could make new memories, try new food items, and feel that sense of nostalgia.
This highly-themed restaurant is perfect for families or groups with picky eaters or who want to eat familiar foods. They do have more than just burgers. The menu has salads, two types of pasta, and a grilled chicken sandwich. So you see, there really is something for everyone. I think that’s what I love about Sci-fi; no one feels left out here. Be sure to look around when you are walking around the restaurant. They have memorabilia everywhere, and you won’t want to miss it. Don’t just look side to side; be sure to look up too.
