While Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was the final chapter in the story for characters we’ve come to know and love over several years, the film also introduced some new ones. After seeing the film Saturday night, one of our readers shared their heartfelt review of Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid. We thought others might be interested in reading it, too, so take a look below, and if you’ve seen the new film, leave us your review in the comments section.
I watched The Little Mermaid last night. I’ve been waiting for this. I remember turning 6 when the animated movie released it was around my Birthday. I remember the movie theater & that we went in a group with my cousins and the other kids in the neighborhood.
As I sat in the theater last night, I found myself comparing the new little mermaid to the memories of watching the animated [The] Little Mermaid. I started looking around at a theater full of kids all races. There were girls dressed as animated Ariel, live-action Ariel, a mix of both & their own personal rendition of mermaids. They reached to the screen as Ariel sang the last line of a Part of Your World. I got choked up. I remembered doing that & I felt like I did at 6. They jumped out of their seats and danced during Under the Sea. I could remember how I had squirmed with excitement & giggles. They gasped as Eric fell into the water & silently sank. They were clapping when Ariel and Eric finally kissed. At the end they were all out in front of the screen dancing and singing. They didn’t care that she didn’t look like the animated Ariel. She was their little mermaid. I didn’t care that this wasn’t the little mermaid I had grown up with. She was beautiful and new. She was meant for them.
A Pirates of the Caribbean light up sword and bubble wand are available in Adventureland at Disneyland Paris.
Pirates of the Caribbean Light Up Sword and Bubble Wand – 30.00€
If a Pirate’s life is for you, you’ll want to see this Pirates of the Caribbean-themed light up sword, which also happens to be a bubble wand. We found this at Le Coffre du Capitane — the ride’s exit shop.
The base of the sword features a silver skull wearing a red bandana with a gold piece —reminiscent of Captain Jack Sparrow’s look — hanging in front of it. The skull is also wearing a black pirate hat that says “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
The sword features a gold colored handle and has a circular bubble storage compartment on the bottom. The back of the sword is also where you’ll find the battery compartment and the switch that controls the lights and bubbles.
The Pirates of the Caribbean sword lights up many different colors including red, green, blue, and purple. Not only does the sword light up, but so does the pirate skull.
There is also an option to have the sword disperse bubbles. Bubbles shoot out directly through the top of the sword.
The sword has an option for just light, just bubbles, or light and bubbles.
We found this sword at Le Coffre du Capitane at the ride’s exit shop, but it is also available at a cart near the entrance of Adventureland.

As you might be able to tell, the restaurant will be pretty tall, which is starting to show as he building takes shape.
Multiple levels
Disney stated that the new restaurant’s menu will be inspired by California flavors and menu items will have “simple, sustainable ingredients.” The menu will include things like pizzas, salads, pasta, sandwiches, and more.
More of the roofline
Currently, there’s scaffolding around most of the roof line, so it seems that’s where construction is focused on right now.
Roofline work
For reference, here’s some concept art of what it will look like once it’s complete.
