Oh boy, planning a Disney trip can be quite the adventure, and we totally get it! But fear not, dear friends, we compiled EVERYTHING you need (and the things to avoid!) to plan the ULTIMATE Disney vacation.
Whether you’re a rookie or a seasoned pro, our insider tips and tricks will have you exploring the parks like never before. So come along with us, and get planning your most magical vacation ever!
HOLD UP. Before you get mad at us, we’re totally including ourselves in this category as well! From the words and phrases we use to the way we behave in the parks, sometimes we’re an unusual breed of fans. And today, we’re opening up and admitting to the cringeworthy things that we totally do in Disney World!
Take a Million Photos
We’ll be the first to admit that we take WAY more photos than the average person in Disney World. And typically when we’re doing it, it’s for our jobs. However, we’ve also been known to take an excessive number of Disney pics when visiting for fun…much to the annoyance of our family and friends.
EPCOT
And will we ever look at those 37 pictures of Spaceship Earth again? Maybe not. But can we bring ourselves to delete them and clear up space in our photo library? Absolutely not! It’s just a hazard of being a Disney fan.
Wear Ears Just For the Pics
Minnie ears are an iconic part of a Disney vacation, but we’d be lying if we said that we didn’t sometimes find them uncomfortable. Not all pairs are created equal and some are just downright annoying to wear for 13-hour park days.
Minnie Mouse Strawberry Cupcake Munchlings Ears
So maybe, yes, we’ve packed a pair of ears on our bag in the past just to take them out and put them on for photos. Because they complete the outfit! And then, maybe, we also stowed them away immediately afterward and didn’t take them out again. Because we’re only human.
Get Snacks Just for the Pics
And speaking of doing things just for the pics — we’ve done our fair share of ordering just for the TikTok or the Instagram post. You see something online and it’s just too photogenic to resist, so you have to snap that perfect pic to show all your followers!
Pineapple Dole Whip
And unfortunately, sometimes those snacks, drinks, or meals aren’t quite as delicious as they look. We’ve definitely been left wishing that we ordered the yummy thing over the pretty thing a few times in the past.
Get Overly Competitive With Friends (And Strangers)
We’ll be honest — rides like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and Toy Story Mania can bring out the absolute WORST in people. And by people…we mean us. We’re just too competitive for our own good!
Toy Story Mania
We’ve had our fair share of competitive showdowns with friends and family, as well as strangers, on these rides in the past. When it comes to Buzz, you’ve got to know which targets to hit and accuracy is important. But when you’re riding Toy Story Mania, it’s all about the speed — and if we scored higher than the small child sitting next to us and felt a little bit better about ourselves because of it…well that’s our business.
Spend An Excessive Amount On “Useless” Souvenirs
And finally, we’ve got to talk about our spending habits. We’ve definitely spent way too many hours of our lives inside Disney gift shops and WAY too much money as a result of those hours. Unfortunately, some of those purchases never see the light of day.
100th Anniversary Display in Disney’s Emporium
It’s easy to convince yourself that you need another Loungefly, pair of ears, or t-shirt when you’re in the heat of the moment. Because of this, we’ve found ourselves spending a lot of money on things we ONLY use when we go to the parks. (We’re sure you can probably relate!)
MagicBand+ display in Magic Kingdom
So there you go — the cringeworthy Disney things that we definitely do. We promise, we’re normal Disney fans just like you are!
Stay tuned to DFB for more tips and advice from the parks, as well as all the Disney news you need to know before your next trip. We’ve got you covered!

The Disney Magic first sailed the “Shimmering Seas” in 1998, marking this summer as the 25th anniversary of Disney Cruise Line. We recently sailed on the Disney Wish with Disney Cruise Line, and our stateroom accommodation for this trip was a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Veranadah. We took plenty of photos and video of the room, take a look with us.
Disney Wish Room Tour: Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
We had room 9154, which is category 5B on deck nine. The room placard features Archimedes from “The Sword in the Stone.”
Upon entry, to your immediate left is the split bathroom.
The first door leads to the toilet. The angle of the toilet here is nice, as it creates some leg room for taller guests.
There is no artwork in this room, but it is a very small room to begin with.
This split bathroom layout allows multiple people to get ready at the same time. There is a sink along with some storage on the wall.
Behind the second bathroom door is the shower/tub combo, along with another sink. The back side of the door also has a full-length mirror.
The towels in the stateroom are custom Disney Cruise Line towels.
Behind a glass door is a shower/tub combo. The shower head is both adjustable and handheld.
H2O products in glass bottles are available to use.
To the right side as you enter the stateroom is the closet and storage area behind several sliding doors. These doors break very easily and actually slid off the track while we were performing this tour.
Wooden hangers and two robes are available for use.
Life jackets are kept in these closets for guests. You can also spot an in-room safe.
At the end of the closet, you can find more hangers as well as a ladder that can be installed for bunk beds if the guests require it.
The Disney Wish features rooms that are themed after classic Disney princess films, and this room is “Sleeping Beauty” themed. The bed also has a custom Disney Wish-themed bed runner at the foot.
The mural above the bed features Flora, Fauna, and Meriwether from “Sleeping Beauty” surrounded by woodland animals.
On either side of the bed, there are lamps and reading lights, as well as several electrical outlets and USB-A and USB-C ports.
On the wall opposite the bed, there is a TV mounted on the wall, as well as a doorway that can be used to access the adjoining room if guests book multiple rooms together.
The couch folds out into a bed, and there is also a bunk bed that can be brought out of the ceiling for larger parties. If you wish to utilize the bunk bed, your stateroom attendant will set it up for you each night. The weight limit on the top bunk is 265 pounds.
The “Sleeping Beauty” theming continues with this piece of framed art that features Princess Aurora going on a walk with some of her animal friends.
The vanity area features ample storage as well with shelves, countertop space, drawers, and a pull-out refrigerator. There is also a short stool that can be used to sit on while a guest gets ready at the vanity. There are also four glasses, topped with Disney Cruise Line-branded paper lids.
We didn’t get a chance to snap photos of our verandah, but we did want to include these photos from our last verandah stateroom. You can get a great look at the verandah in our video tour.
For a full video tour, as well as a look at the verandah and the bunk beds, check out our video below.

Disneyland Paris has filed a building permit for what may be a future BMX stunt show.
Disneyland Paris
On May 15, a building permit was filed for the “construction of metal sets, a training tent, and technical rooms inside the stage area of the existing building.”
According to DLP Report on Twitter, Disneyland Paris posted on their job page that they are looking for “BMX Riders Freestyle” and “Mountain Bike Riders Street Trial” stunt performers for an upcoming show.

Disneyland Paris used to have Moteurs…Action! — a stunt show very similar to Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Moteurs…Action! was an opening day attraction in Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris and closed in 2020.
Walt Disney Studios Park is also home to another stunt show, Avengers Unite!, where guests can watch Black Widow and Black Panther team up for an “epic roof battle.”
Coming Soon to Walt Disney Studios Park
As part of a long-term plan to boost the resort’s revenue in 2018, Disney CEO Robert A. Iger and French President Emmanuel Macron met at the official Parisian Presidential residence — the Palais de’Élysée — where Iger announced a staggering multi-billion, multi-year expansion of the resort, almost entirely emphasizing the Studios park.
In almost prophetic fashion, Iger, who initially retired in 2021 before a surprise return, expressed his excitement for this endeavor as added motivation in the twilight years of his leadership. At the time of the initial announcement, he was interviewed by French-language weekly news magazine Paris Match — and confronted about both his age and the fact that he was undertaking such a colossal blueprint whilst already postponing his retirement four times:
Je travaille pour l’entreprise depuis quarante-quatre ans, je suis PDG depuis treize ans. J’avais hâte d’arriver à ce moment de la vie où on peut explorer d’autres aventures, mais cette opportunité est survenue. Non seulement je pense que c’est une opportunité formidable pour l’entreprise, mais aussi que cela me donnera beaucoup d’énergie et d’enthousiasme.
I have worked for the company for forty-four years, I have been CEO for thirteen years. I was looking forward to getting to that time in life where you can explore other adventures, but this opportunity arose. Not only do I think this is a great opportunity for the company, but it will also give me a lot of energy and enthusiasm.
The official Disney Parks Blog shared a video update on progress from Walt Disney Imagineering, featuring the artisans tasked with this herculean effort:
As you can see, over at the “Frozen”-themed land, inspired by the hit Walt Disney Animation Studios films, the kingdom of Anna and Elsa is taking shape and reaching for the sky more and more every day. Nearby the Arendelle Castle, the teams have welcomed their very first trees, giving new life to the construction site. To recreate the atmosphere of a Norwegian Fjörd, the area development and construction teams chose to use majestic conifers such as sequoia trees, which reach more than 22 feet in height.

When you think about a stay at Walt Disney World, you are likely picturing a few days at the different Disney theme parks on offer. Last week, I sat down with a friend of mine who was describing a brand new approach to Disney that I had heard of but never considered as an option for myself until now. My friend has taken to visiting Walt Disney World, staying in a Disney Resort, and enjoying Disney activities, but with one major difference; they skip the parks!
At first, I thought, wow, clearly we can’t be friends anymore, but the longer she described their last experience, the more I started to see the allure of such a thing. First of all, they slept in. Umm… okay, sure, no pressure of rope drop or missing out on the first run of Genie+ passes for the day; I can see that. Then she tells me about leisurely exploring Disney Springs, seeing Cirque Du Soleil’s Drawn to Life, playing a few rounds of golf, and romantic walks around the Boardwalk after dark. All of a sudden, that doesn’t sound like the worst time. Not something you would make the trip all the way there for from Australia, but as an add-on to an existing trip, I can see how this could be a really fun and less stressful few days.
Of course, it made me want to throw the topic over to our DIS community to see what you think. Have you ever been on a resort-only Disney vacation? What did your itinerary look like?
