Disney’s New Ears are on FIRE…Literally!

Get ready to celebrate the release of an upcoming new Pixar movie in STYLE!

The new Disney/Pixar movie Elemental is set to debut on June 16th. And if you’re already excited about repping the brand-new characters from the film, we’ve got good news — we spotted some new Elemental merch in the parks today, including a unique pair of ears!

This morning, we swung by EPCOT’s Creations Shop to see if there were any new arrivals, and we weren’t disappointed. In preparation for the June release of Elemental, new merch has dropped featuring the characters from the film!

Creations Shop in EPCOT

The first thing that caught our eye was the Elemental Ears, that star two of the main characters — Ember and Wade — on the front. Since the theme of the movie is centered around the elements, a flame and a wave are positioned in the center of the ears, right where lots of other designs have a bow instead.

Elemental Ears!

Both the headband and the back of the ears are covered in an all-over print with images representing the different elements. You can add these unique new ears to your collection for $34.99!

We also found new plushes of some of the main characters, like Ember

…and Gale! The plushes are all available for $22.99.

Plus, there’s also an Elemental Figurine Set for $29.99!

And last but not least, we spotted this Elemental Water Bottle that we had previously seen at Disney Springs as well for $22.99.

We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more new Elemental merch as the movie’s release date approaches, so stay tuned to DFB for all of the latest finds around the Disney parks!

Something Has CHANGED On The My Disney Experience App

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of The Little Mermaid.

Live-Action Ariel Meet-And-Greet

The new live-action The Little Mermaid movie is now playing in theaters, there’s a ton of NEW Ariel merchandise, AND the live-action version of Ariel is now meeting guests in Disney World. However, you might notice that there are TWO Ariel meet-and-greet experiences in Disney World, and the My Disney Experience app has changed how it lists these experiences.

Yes, you have a chance to meet TWO versions of Ariel in Disney World right now — the animated version of the character meets guests in Magic Kingdom AND the new live-action version of Ariel is meeting guests in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Animated Ariel in Magic Kingdom

To differentiate between the two, you might notice a change made in the My Disney Experience app. The animated version of Ariel says, “Ariel (From the Animated Story).” You’ll find this meet and greet in Magic Kingdom at Ariel’s Grotto in Fantasyland.

The live-action meet-and-greet says, “Ariel (From the Live-Action Story).” This meet and greet is in the Walt Disney Presents building at Hollywood Studios.

So if you’re looking out for a specific version of Ariel in Disney World, look for that differentiation. Also, if you’re wanting to celebrate all things Little Mermaid, be sure to check out all the NEW mermaid-inspired treats in the parks.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on ALL things Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more.

An Ultra-Low Fare Airline Just Added Nonstop Flights at Orlando Airport

When you go to Disney World, how do you travel?

©Norse Airways

Although some of us are close enough to drive to Disney World, most of us fly, especially those of us who live far from Florida or even outside the United States. The good news is that Orlando International Airport has been adding new flights and airlines to its roster a LOT lately. Now, ANOTHER new airline is offering flights to Orlando.

This news is for those of you who live in the U.K.: Norse Atlantic Airways is now offering nonstop flights from London Gatwick Airport to (and from) Orlando International Airport.

Norse is a relatively new low-cost airline offering flights to and from Europe. Like other low-cost airlines, the lowest fares mean that you will need to pay extra for any meals served on your flights, as well as pay fees for checked luggage and additional carry-on bags (economy fares only include one bag that fits under the seat). However, premium seats are available, although these will typically cost a little more money.

©Norse Airways

If you’re looking for a way to get to Orlando from London on a budget, though, it may be worth it to check fares on Norse to see if you can score a good deal.

Before you fly to Disney World, though, be sure you take a look at our ULTIMATE Disney World packing list. You’d be surprised at what you might need before you head to the Most Magical Place on Earth, but don’t worry — we’ve got you covered.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on everything going on with Orlando International Airport, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!

Reservations Now SOLD OUT for Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel

Recently, Disney announced that it would be closing the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser.

Characters on the Starcruiser

The hotel that isn’t REALLY a hotel, but instead an interactive Star Wars experience, is set to have its final voyage from September 28th-30th. After Disney made the announcement, new bookings were temporarily closed. However, booking opened back up on May 26th. Then, later that same day, reservations were no longer available.

Reservations for the Starcruiser’s final voyage were marked “Unavailable” before booking reopened to the general public — that may be because Disney allowed guests with reservations AFTER the closure date to reschedule. There were some bookings available early on May 26th, but later, Disney shared a message on the Galactic Starcruiser website stating that the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser is unavailable for new bookings.

However, the message did indicate that a limited number of rooms could become available for new bookings “from time to time.” Disney urges guests to continue checking the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser website for any new availability. Who knows, maybe there will be some cancelations!

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Atrium

When the news first broke, Disney released a statement about the Galactic Starcruiser’s closure:

“Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”

Galactic Starcruiser Room

Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, further explained why the experience is closing. “It’s essentially a spaceship that guests board, themed out to feel exactly like Star Wars. Our Imagineers did an incredible job pulling this asset together, and our guests gave it very high ratings.” He added, ” “It didn’t perform exactly like we wanted it to perform, so we decided that we’re going to sunset this in September.”

If bookings do open back up, note that it’s not expected that Disney will offer any discounts for the final voyages on the Galactic Starcruiser. A two-day voyage starts at $4,809 for two guests staying in a Standard Cabin.

We’ll continue to keep an eye on bookings for the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser and when more may become available, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

Family Night In: Disney’s ‘Encanto’ LIVE at the Hollywood Bowl

Happy Saturday! Congratulations on making it through this week; it was a big one. With all the news that came down the last few days, I feel like it’s time to take a break, relax, and spend some time with the family. By now, you’ve likely worked out that in my house, we like to have a family movie night, and for every action-packed blockbuster my teenagers like to watch, they also love some of that classic Disney animated magic as well. I’ll admit that I had a completely different plan for this week, but while I was scrolling through my playlist of favorite Disney performances, I was reminded of how much I loved the production of Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl.

If you aren’t familiar with it. This performance included the original cast, making the jump from voice acting to the stage for a night that will not be forgotten. We will be watching the show on Disney+, where you can see it as part of your subscription, though for those of you who don’t have the streaming service. I have included a few clips from YouTube where you can see the show spin its magical web of enchantment.

Step into Casa Madrigal for an unprecedented concert spectacular as the original voice cast of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award®-winning “Encanto” reunites at the Hollywood Bowl. Starring Stephanie Beatriz, Adassa, Carolina Gaitán, Jessica Darrow, Diane Guerrero, Mauro Castillo, Angie Cepeda and Olga Merediz, along with special guests including legendary Colombian superstar Carlos Vives, “Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl” transforms the historic venue into the world of the animated film that became a worldwide phenomenon. This live-to-film concert experience gives you a front-row seat to the unprecedented musical extravaganza celebrating the world, characters, and songs of Disney Animation’s “Encanto.”

Stay tuned for a recipe that you can make before the show to keep everyone authentically satisfied during the performance.

The Secret to Buying Cheaper Disney Tickets

This article contains sponsored content from World of DVC.

Have you ever wondered what you could do to make planning a trip to Disney World both more accessible and more cost-effective? Looking for the newest deal, choosing to eat at a quick service dining location instead of a table service dining location, and staying in a Value resort as opposed to a Deluxe resort, are just a few ways that many guests do to make the idea of staying at Walt Disney World more attainable.

Even for those who manage to build up the savings to travel to Walt Disney World, sometimes planning where to eat, and looking for reservations that are seemingly never available on the My Disney Experience app can add a stress point to what should be a very magical vacation.

Thankfully, Unlocked Magic is a one-stop shop for finding solutions to any Disney issue. What if we told you you could totally avoid that entire scenario, and not spend ANY time refreshing My Disney Experience? Unlocked Magic will unlock the key to a fabulous dining experience at Disney, with little to no work on your part. Now that Walt Disney World has emerged from the pandemic, crowds are back in action, and there are a lot more guests that you have to compete with to grab your dining reservation. Trust us, you are not the only one refreshing My Disney Experience 60 days before your trip in hopes that you beat out everyone else for a Cinderella’s Royal Table reservation in Magic Kingdom.

The added stress that booking a dining reservation can bring to any Disney vacation planning can take quite a toll, especially if you have to constantly be thinking about checking for a reservation that may never appear. Unlocked Magic is able to do that for you. It’s almost as if this new app is your personal Fair Godmother, and it is ready to turn our pumpkin into a royal carriage that brings us to our favorite Disney restaurants!

Not only can you score the ultimate Disney dining reservation, but you can save a TON on tickets! Unlocked Magic is your ultimate destination for the best discounts on Walt Disney World tickets. Whether it’s a fun-filled family vacation or a whimsical weekend getaway, we provide the magic for less!

At the moment, Walt Disney World is offering a new type of ticket this summer to attract additional guests. The new ticket deal is called a 4-Park Magic Ticket and offers guests a discount over buying day tickets separately.

Beginning May 23, 2023, guests can purchase a 4-day, 4-Park Magic Ticket for $99 per day plus tax ($396 total plus tax). This special ticket includes one day of admission to each of the four theme parks at Walt Disney World for a total of four admissions, on four separate days. The deal does not include Park Hopper. No theme park reservations will be needed for this ticket.

Even with the major discount that Disney is currently offering on their tickets, Unlocked Magic has them beat. Now, you can experience the magic of all four Walt Disney World theme parks with this summer’s special Walt Disney World Ticket Offer. At only $99 per day, it’s an extraordinary adventure at an unbeatable price – and within Unlocked Magic, you can save an additional 6% off the retail price of this ticket.

To further understand how these ticket deals work, let’s look at a 5-Day Park Hopper for 4 Adults, for instance. While purchasing these tickets directly from Disney would set you back $3,013.52, Unlocked Magic offers the same for just $2,772.44, saving you a whopping $241.08. Plus, the savings you get from Unlocked Magic is not just about discounted tickets. That $241.08 you save can pay for over three years of Unlocked Magic membership. Imagine the possibilities and savings in three years’ worth of Disney adventures.

When you use Unlocked Magic, you will have unlimited dining requests, and you can look at restaurants all over Disney property. From Magic Kingdom to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and every single Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, every location is available. Plus, Unlocked Magic only costs $5.99 after your first free month, which is less than a Mickey pretzel!

The app also shows DVC room availability, attraction wait times, discounted tickets, crowd calendars, and exclusive community chats (For example, Jason Zucker, Disney character artist, has lead drawing classes for users!).
