These are some of the most luxurious accommodations on Disney World property. The Dreaded Word: Refurbishment Refurbishments are a part of life at Walt Disney World. It’s not uncommon for at least one attraction to be closed at any given time. Restaurants, hotels, and other areas of the property also need freshened up for optimal […]
We have a surprising update! Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Refurbishment Many people love to ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster which launches guests in a “stretch limo” from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds. Inside their Hollywood music studio, legendary rock band Aerosmith is wrapping up a recording session. When their manager tells them they’re […]
We found a few new treats around Disney World that are celebrating the release of The Little Mermaid live-action movie, and between all these new snacks and all the other new experiences popping up in the parks, we’ve been BUSY!
A few new treats have arrived in the Magic Kingdom so we decided to pick them up and give them a try! Let’s dive into a few of these new treats found around the parks.
First up, let’s check out the Divinely Diabolical Milkshake! What an EPIC name, right?
Divinely Diabolical
This treat consists of a cookies and cream milkshake with a chocolate drizzle and purple whip cream, topped with white chocolate crisp pearls, and a chocolate seashell. We picked this one up at The Friar’s Nook in Magic Kingdom for $7.99.
As for the taste, well…it’s a classic cookies and cream milkshake. So if you’re a fan of cookies and cream milkshakes, it’s a nice (and pretty!) spin on an old classic.
Sooo much whipped cream!
That said, the whipped cream was just too much for us and it was so sweet. It’s a fairly decent size, but we questioned the pricing on this one since it’s basically just a cookies and cream milkshake. If you’re not a fan of chocolate, we recommend you pass on this one.
This dessert came from Storybook Treatsat Magic Kingdom, just down the way from where we picked up the last snack. It’s made of strawberry dole whip and purple cheesecake soft serve, topped with white chocolate crisp pearls and a chocolate seashell served in a blue cone. This colorful cone cost us $6.29.
Oh, no! It’s melting fast.
This cone is super bright and cute, but you have to eat FAST! This one melted ridiculously quickly, and it really was a bummer to see it melt right before our eyes. We were also left questioning where the purple cheesecake flavor was because we had a hard time distinguishing it from the rest of the flavors.
That was fast!
Overall, these new treats added for the debut of The Little Mermaid live-action film really didn’t knock our socks off with their execution (or their favoring) and left us with so many questions. So here’s our verdict: if you’re someone that can eat ice cream really fast and you like strawberry flavors, we say go for it! If you’re not into strawberry (or very sweet) flavors, we think it’d be best to pass on this one. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more!
When it comes to Disney World construction projects, things are almost always a mystery. When will things open? When will they close? It’s often pretty hard to guess! During our most recent trip to EPCOT, we stumbled upon a surprise soft opening over by Test Track!
The Refreshment Station in EPCOT had a soft opening! Without a little context, you might not be able to place this snack spot (admittedly, the history of this location is a little confusing!). Refreshment Station was formerly known as Cool Wash, and you can find it over by Test Track.
It’s open!
This spot opens and closes seasonally, and sometimes it is used as a shaded area to eat your festival snacks! In the past, we’ve ordered Create-Your-Own Slushies here. Here’s what it looked like back when it was known as Cool Wash in 2021.
Cool Wash
It’s a mysterious location, so when we noticed that it closed for refurbishment, we couldn’t wait to see what would be on the new menu! During the soft opening, there were two frozen slushy flavors available: Coca-Cola and Fanta Banana.
Here’s a look at the menu during the soft opening
Good news! The toppings are back, too! You can get Pop Rocks, rock candy, gummy worms, and other candies on any slushy on the menu. Oh, and those toppings are FREE to add to your drink — woohoo!
Looks like there’s room for one more flavor in the machines — we’ll keep our eyes out!
The Fanta Banana Frozen Slushy is topped with caramel and blueberries. It’s available for $6.
Fanta Banana Slushy
It may sound a little strange, but we ended up really enjoying this treat! It was nice and light and refreshing. The caramel topping wasn’t super noticeable, but it went well with that sweet banana flavor. (It sunk to the bottom, though, so we didn’t really taste it at first)
YUM!
This is a great kid-friendly treat that is perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day! If you love banana-flavored treats, give this a try! If you’re not a fruit lover, you can skip this one.
This was a fun surprise!
We were happy to see this spot open once again; look out for the official opening date in the near future! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more!

The refurbishment quietly completed today, and we saw guests being allowed into the G-Force Records building once more.
It has been rumored for years that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster could be changed to no longer include Aerosmith. As the ride closed for refurbishment in February, Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was sued for sexual assault, fueling these rumors.
Ultimately, the ride has remained the same, with Aerosmith and Steven Tyler intact.
In March of this year, Ken Marino claimed a Queen retheme was on the way for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Now a prolific stand-up comedian, Marino got his start doing small bit roles as many actors in Los Angeles do, including as the sound mixer for Aerosmith in the recording studio pre-show of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster opened in 1999 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The ride was also a 2002 opening day attraction in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris but was recently replaced by Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, which utilizes the same track.

The Hollywood Reporter has shared details on several film props, including a Princess Leia dress worn by Carrie Fisher, that will be auctioned off in late June.
Film Props Auction
Over 1,400 items are going up for auction from June 28 through June 30. The Princess Leia dress is the very same worn by Fisher in the final scene of “Star Wars: A New Hope,” when she gives Luke Skywalker and Han Solo medals. The dress’s authenticity was confirmed with screen-matching and it is believed to be the only Leia costume remaining in existence from the original film. It was designed by John Mollo, who won the 1978 Academy Award and Saturn Award for his “Star Wars” costume designs.
The gown has a lower-cut neckline and sleeve drapery. It’s made from a lightweight silk fabric and has a hidden zipper on the side and hook-and-eye fasteners on the shoulder. It’s expected to sell for around $2 million.
The auction, run by Propstore, will be one of the largest memorabilia auctions fpr film props in history. Also up for grabs is the hammer used by Tim Robbins in “Shawshank Redemption,” the Batpod motorcycle used by Christian Bale in “The Dark Knight,” and Star-Lord’s light-up helmet from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
The two-piece helmet is made of cast urethane resin and has foam and suede padding. It was hand painted with a variety of different finishes to look like metal and “inset with two-toned red on the exterior and blue on the interior, lenses, and applied with grid-patterned acrylic sheets on the front as well as small segments of metal tubing, screws and mesh throughout.” The two pieces are held together with hidden magnets. A 9V battery-operated switch that turns on the LEDs in the lenses and a red LED on the right side is also inside the helmet. It’s marked with stickers as “HERO 3” and intentionally lightly distressed. A tongue piece designed to be concealed has broken off to the front on one side.
Marvel fans may also be intersted in the cracked Mjolnir hammer, used by both Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth in “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
Another major piece is this “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” distressed costume with glasses that was worn by Daniel Radcliffe.
The auction also includes Al Pacino’s hand-annotated “Scarface” shooting script, shield used by Brad Pitt as Achilles in “Troy,” a static version of the Spider Head-Thing from “The Thing,” a screen-matched clown doll from “Poltergeist,” Kat Winslet’s sinking coat from “Titanic,” and a costume worn by Harrison Ford in “Blade Runner.”
Propstore is hosting an in-person preview exhibition of 80 lots at their office in Valencia, California by appointment from May 29 to June 30. The actual auction will be held over three days, from June 28 to June 30. The first day will have in-room bidding open to the public at the Petersen Automotive Museum (the current home of the Batpod motorcycle).
Online and telephone bids will also be able to be placed during the whole event.
Visit propstore.com/liveauction to make a preview appointment, view some of the film props, or order a catalog.
This auction comes months after another high-profile auction back in March, “The Art of Disneyland: From Stagecoaches to Monorails… and More,” hosted by Heritage Auctions in Beverly Hills, California.. With the frequency and tempo of these auctions seemingly increasing each year, it appears consumer appetite for authentic props and items from iconic franchises is as strong as ever.
Will you be bidding on some of your favorite props?
