Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser
This month, Disney made the surprise announcement that they’d be closing their themed hotel aimed at immersive storytelling permanently after only one year and a few months of operation. Starcruiser has been burdened since before its opening, shrouded in financial troubles, budget cuts, high prices, low occupancy, and inconsistent levels of satisfaction when individuals compare what was delivered with what was initially promised in conceptual stages. Above all, the struggling resort was prohibitively expensive for the vast majority of potentially interested guests, with costs frequently exceeding multiple thousands of dollars for a brief, two-night stay.

On a recent visit out to Disney California Adventure, we stopped by the churro cart near Award Weiners to try out their latest creation. Allow us to introduce you to the Bacon PB& J Churro! Now THAT is a combination.
Would you try the Bacon PB&J Churro?
If you’re reading this and thinking, “How could they possibly pull this off?” well, here’s the breakdown. This new creation consists of a classic Disney churro rolled in banana sugar, drizzled with peanut butter and Jelly, and topped with crispy bacon.
Oooh! This looks interesting!
So we dug in… and were pleasantly surprised! All of the flavors here work really well together! The bacon was crunchy and kind of salty. It certainly gave us more of a savory snack vibe. Then the jelly had a sweet and fresh taste along with the creamy peanut butter.

If you’re wondering about how the banana fit in with the rest of the flavors, we didn’t taste much of the banana sugar, but there were hints of banana in some bites. Since it all worked so well together, it really was difficult finding fault with this one. If you’re not a fan of sweet and savory flavors battling in the same snack or just prefer a classic churro with less going on with it, this one is probably a snack you’ll want to skip.
Some may prefer a plain churro!
If this sounds like just the right twist of a peanut butter and jelly spin, then you can pick one up for $6.75.
We try out all the latest snacks around the Disney parks to help you decide on what’s best to try for your next Disney trip, so for the latest in Disney foodie news, stay with us at Disney Food Blog!
Now, let us walk you through our experience at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We got in line to meet Ariel bright and early, but the line was super long on opening day. It’s a good thing we have feet and not a tail because we stood in line for a LONG time. The posted wait time was 60 minutes, but we ended up waiting 95 minutes.
It was so lovely to get to know Ariel. She was bright and bubbly and so much fun to meet!
Ariel was so sweet!
While we’re at it, can we take a moment to appreciate the new outfit? It’s beautiful! Can you tell we had a GREAT time?!
Look at that DRESS!
We’re so excited about this new meet and greet and hope that it’s just the beginning of seeing new faces in the Disney parks! We’ll be on the lookout for the latest news from Disney World and Disneyland, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
