While the great popcorn bucket craze is a relatively new phenomenon, you may have been a popcorn bucket collector YEARS before Disney caught on. Forget the theme parks — let’s talk about movie theater popcorn buckets for a second. Spoiler alert: we might like them even MORE than some of those wacky Disney buckets! (Controversial, right?!)
Will you be headed to theaters to see ‘The Little Mermaid’?
Going to see the movie? Read this FIRST! Select AMC theaters are offering an exclusive The Little Mermaid light-up popcorn bucket with popcorn for $24.99. The deal begins on May 25th, while supplies last.
Do ya hear that, Disney? It lights UP, gives you a TON of popcorn, AND costs less than some of your (smaller) popcorn buckets. Do we sense a showdown brewing?!
AMC in Disney Springs
You can check here to see the full list of theaters participating in the offer. If you happen to be in Disney World soon, the AMC at Disney Springs is on the list of participating theaters, so you can pick up a popcorn bucket right in Disney Springs!
We can’t wait to see the new movie in theaters (and chow down on LOTS of buttery popcorn!). In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more!

The Jurassic Park 30th anniversary collection has arrived at Universal Studios Florida Tribute Store, located in the Hollywood area of the park.
One collection of merchandise features Japanese-inspired artwork.
There are also pillows and other products by Accompany.
‘Jurassic Park’ 30th Anniversary Spirit Jersey – $80
This deep crimson homage to “Jurassic Park” displays the 30th anniversary banner, along with the franchise’s trademark dinosaur skeleton beneath a sunset on the tropical Isla Nublar — home of the original Jurassic Park.
The standard “Jurassic Park” logo is on the chest.
This denim jacket prominently displays the 30th anniversary banner logo on the back, in bright red and yellow.
On the chest, the T. rex is silhouetted against a green, yellow, and red background on a patch.
‘June 11, 1993’ Pin – $9
All of the June 11, 1993 — the release date of “Jurassic Park” — merchandise features the film’s classic red, yellow, and black logo with the date in white and red lettering.
‘June 11, 1993’ Poster – $15
‘June 11, 1993’ Shirt – $27
A logo for the 30th anniversary with the T. rex silhouette, a combined “JP,” and “30” is on much of this merch, too.
‘June 11, 1993’ Shot Glass – $9
‘June 11, 1993’ Magnet – $14
Dr. Ian Malcolm Hoodie – $55
This hoodie is a direct reference to a famous scene in the first film, where a T-Rex pursues one of the tour vehicles with an injured Dr. Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) in the back.
Already filling up the entire rear-view mirror, the ironic safety warning adds to the dread: “objects in mirror are closer than they appear.”
“Must go faster,” utters a stressed Malcolm only feet, maybe inches, from becoming dinner.
The “JP 30” logo is on the chest.
Dr. Ian Malcolm Tote Bag – $28
The same Ian Malcolm design is also available as a tote bag, pin, and keychain.
Dr. Ian Malcolm Pin – $10
Dr. Ian Malcolm Keychain – $11
Dr. Ian Malcolm Mug – $15
“I’m always on the lookout for a future ex-Mrs. Malcolm” — this comedic mug pokes fun with Ian Malcolm’s commitment issues, and refers to a now-iconic scene in which actor Jeff Goldblum’s character appears partially shirtless. Goldblum explained how this whole look was completely random in an interview with Vanity Fair:
It wasn’t in the script. It had nothing to do with my character, it had nothing to do with the movie! I don’t know, it just happened somehow.
Dr. Ian Malcolm Tee – $30
The same quote and image of Ian Malcolm are on this black T-shirt.
The original gates of Jurassic Park feature here, with the June 1993 release date also included.
‘Jurassic Park’ 30th Anniversary Tumbler – $29
This black 30th anniversary tumbler includes the classic logo and a red grip fully encircling it.

The transformation of Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel to Pixar Place Hotel is underway, and we’ve gotten a first look at new artist concept renderings and details for the revamped hotel. The Lobby Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel continues to welcome guests during this transition into the Pixar Place Hotel, which was first announced in April 2022,… Read More »Disney Releases New Details For Pixar Place Hotel at Disneyland Resort
In April of 2022, we found out that Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel at Disneyland would be undergoing a MAJOR transformation to become the Pixar Place Hotel.
Set to open this winter, the high-rise hotel overlooks Disney California Adventure Park and will present to visitors the artwork and styles from the classic Pixar films and animation studios. Disney just shared some extra details on the all-new restaurant coming to the hotel this fall.
Great Maple is coming to Pixar Place Hotel and will be a “Southern California-based modern American eatery.” It will serve upscale dishes of fan-favorite comfort foods like fried chicken, burgers, and even salads. This restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and will provide easy access for overnight guests, locals, and theme park visitors. It is located on the ground floor of the hotel.
Since this hotel is a chain, we were able to speculate on what kinds of specific dishes might be offered once it opens this winter. But now, some of those menu items have been confirmed! Signature dishes will include Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts, the Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, and the Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs. Plus, you’ll be able to indulge in the full bar which will serve wine, beer, and cocktails.
Disney said that Great Maple’s “culinary creativity will abound throughout the hotel.” Aside from the restaurant itself, there will be a grab-and-go coffee shop, and food and beverage options will also be available at the pool bar and concierge lounge.
If there’s no maple-flavored coffee, we will protest! Just kidding. Maybe. Well, we’ll continue to keep you updated with all the latest Disneyland news, so make sure to follow along for more!
When it was first announced that the Lake Nona project was scrapped, many were quick to speculate about what would happen with the land. Since Disney isn’t moving forward with the relocation, there are 60 acres of land ready to be developed. They could choose to pivot and do something else entirely with the land — but new documents show that may not be likely.
According to the Orlando Business Journal, not only does Lake Nona’s master developer have a say in what happens to the land, but also the timeframe in which it happens.

Legal documents related to the original sale between Disney and Tavistock revealwhen Disney might have to resell part or all of the Lake Nona land back to the developer. Whether the land is developed or sits vacant can have an impact on neighboring property owners, residents, and businesses.
EPCOT
Orange County public records show a memorandum of repurchase option between Tavistock subsidiary Lake Nona Land Co. and Disney’s Dynamic Campus LLC said that Disney needed to reach these construction milestones:
“Completion of 250,000 square feet of interior construction and a certificate of occupancy issued by seven years from the property sale closing date. That puts it at Sept. 14, 2028.”
“Completion of a total of 500,000 square feet of the project by 10 years from the closing date, putting it at Sept. 14, 2031.”
Tree of Life
The deadlines are “repurchase triggers,” which give the seller the right to buy back any undeveloped parts of the 60 acres of land. Not only that, but they could do so for the original $46.4 million, or a prorated price.
Right now, Disney hasn’t indicated what they plan on doing with the land. A Disney spokesperson said that Disney was “considering next steps for the property.” What those next steps might be though, we’re not entirely sure.
Hollywood Studios
Folks in the Central Florida business community think Disney could eventually change its mind and decide to move forward with the relocation after all, depending on how the battle with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis shakes out.
Orlando land broker Daryl Carter of Maury L. Carter & Associates (who is not related to the project) thinks Disney execs have a few options for what to do next.
“They’re going to evaluate what the property is worth today, what the cost is to carry or hold it — and what it’s going to be worth three or five years from now if they sit on it. The other thing that a big corporation like Disney is going to evaluate is other potential uses of that capital [retained from selling the land] and where else could they put that money to use,” Carter said.
Magic Kingdom
Another document posted to Orange County public records for the sale of the property to Disney in 2021 contains clauses about the right of first offer and right of first refusal.
The right of first offer means “for 99 years from the sale date, Disney will have to provide written notice to Tavistock of its intent to market the property for sale or lease. Tavistock then would have 30 days to decide whether to buy or lease the property before that opportunity is provided to another entity, per this memorandum.”
The right of refusal means that “terms of an unsolicited offer to Disney to buy or lease the property…would have to be presented to Tavistock, which would have 30 days to match it.”
Welcome to Disney World
While we’re not sure what will happen next with the Lake Nona land, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the latest updates. For the latest Disney World news and beyond, stay tuned to DFB!

Join us by taking a closer look at what we deem the best restaurants in Downtown Disney!
Best Downtown Disney Restaurants
Warning: this list will induce food cravings!
Quick Service
Starting with quick service locations, we have four restaurants that we regularly dine at when looking for a counter service meal. Since Downtown Disney is just outside the gates of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, take a midday break from the parks and walk to this convenient restaurant and shopping district.
Blue Ribbon Corn Dog
It’s hard to pass up a classic Disneyland Corn Dog, but you can pick up some VERY unique twists on this tasty concoction at Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs!
The Classic Dog is made with a kosher, all-beef hot dog. And lots of yummy breading!
Corn Dogs!
When it comes to classic Disneyland snacks, we just can’t resist stopping by this small but popular kiosk. This booth is usually staffed by a single Cast Member, so expect slow service during busy times. Corn dogs definitely earn a spot on our list!
Not only is it a delicious crowd pleaser, but Earl of Sandwich is also affordable and quick.
Earl of Sandwich
Each toasty sandwich from Earl of Sandwich comes perfectly wrapped in a piece of gold foil labeled with a sticker that marks the type of sandwich you ordered. Our favorite is the Holiday Turkey!
Napolini Pizzeria
If you’re headed back to your Disneyland resort and looking for a quick bite, then stop in and customize a scrumptious pizza at Napolini Pizzeria!
Napolini Pizzeria
Toppings include Italian sausage, Parma ham, roasted chicken, pepperoni, smoked provolone, broccolini, arugula, black and green olives, artichokes, roasted red peppers and pineapple, and more.
Taqueria at Tortilla Jo’s
When you’re craving Mexican and don’t have the time or budget for table-service, the small Taqueria outside of Tortilla Jo’s is the perfect solution for your next meal.
Taqueria at Tortilla Jo’s
The atmosphere is relaxing, especially on a sunny Southern California day. Plus, the menu choices are simple, so you don’t get overwhelmed.
When you have time to slow down and enjoy a meal, try one of these table service restaurants. While snagging a walk-up table might be possible, we suggest making a reservation for one of these unique restaurants.
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, an incredibly popular New York City-based restaurant, introduced its signature burgers, CrazyShakes, and more to Disneyland! To put it simply, it’s really good food making it a spot that’s well worth a visit. Plus, it’s fun.
Churro Choco Taco Shake
Whether you stop by for a full meal or just a CrazyShake, you won’t be disappointed.
Ballast Point is the very first onsite brewery — complete with a tasting room, a kitchen, and an outdoor beer garden — in the Downtown Disney District. This restaurant offers great eats paired with a huge and unique beer selection in a large hangout spot for both vacation guests and locals.
BP Wings with Crispy Dry Rub
The shareable plates are fun to order if you’re grabbing some friends and some seats on the patio to relax and linger for an evening.
We’ve seen a lot of changes at Downtown Disney over the last couple of years, however this spot still remains a great option for hungry visitors and Southern California residents alike. If you haven’t been here in a while, we suggest trying one of our above recommendations. You won’t be disappointed!
Memorial Day Weekend is coming and that means summer is officially starting.
Main Street USA
With most major holidays, Disney World sees an increase in crowds. And when crowds increase, that can create some problems for guests. We could see an increase in the price of Genie+ (who remembers it being $35 for Spring Break?!). We could see park pass reservations fill up and advance dining reservations get harder to find. But there is one thing that just got easier for the holiday weekend.
The #MemorialDay travel period is here & we’re expecting over 1.1 million passengers through the end of May! Top 5 busiest days: 1. May 27 – 169,659 2. May 26 – 167, 152 3. May 29 – 164,719 4. May 28 – 162,025 5. May 25 – 161,842
— Orlando International Airport (@MCO) May 24, 2023
While this could send you into an anxious spiral if you are one of those 1.1 million people who have a flight to or from Orlando International, there is some good news. According to Fox 35, the airport will open the West Park Place parking lot. This willadd 3,100 more parking spaces for travelers, which could make your vacation a bit easier if you’re flying out of MCO.
Terminal C at the Orlando International Airport
According to the Orlando International Airport’s website, Parking Garage B is already full ahead of the busy weekend. Travelers are encouraged to check the airport’s website for the most up-to-date information on parking. The West Park Place Economy Lot is shown below. It is $10 per day to park there. There is also a shuttle that will run from the lot to Terminals A and C.
