An Illumination Avenue Minion Land sign has been installed near the entrance to Universal Studios Florida.
Minion Land Sign
The sign is in front of what was previously a Betty Boop store, all but confirming the store will become Minion-themed, and across from Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.
The sign is behind construction walls, but towers over the walls.
Several Minion figures are around the sign and on its support pole.
Two of the Minions hold up a small “Illumination Avenue” sign.
The sign and support are made to look mechanical, similar to some of Gru and the Minions’ inventions.
Illumination’s Minion Land
Illumination’s Minion Land at Universal Orlando Resort will be opening this summer with a variety of new attractions and eateries for guests.
The land will take over Production Central, transforming it into Illumination Avenue with a new Minion Cafe (replacing the former Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe) and “other surprises inspired by popular characters from Illumination’s blockbuster franchises.”

We spotted a new tea set at Crystal Arts by Arribas Brothers in Disney Springs. It features five different princesses and is part of the Disney100 Anniversary Celebration merchandise.
Cup and Saucer Set – $149
Five Disney Princesses are featured in this line. Each cup and saucer is sold separately as an individual set. In order to purchase all five princesses sets, the cost would be $745.
Ariel is featured on one of the four sets.
A silver image of King Triton’s castle is pictured on the saucer, and a variety of iconography inspired by “The Little Mermaid” surrounds the dish. A silhouette of Ariel, a crown, and a flower are amongst the images shown. Ariel is also displayed in a delicate, painterly style on the interior of the tea cup. She holds a bouquet of flowers. A “100” is hidden amongst the dangling leaves and two swirls of fish.
The second featured princess is Belle from “Beauty and the Beast.”
Beast’s castle is pictured on the saucer, and images of Belle, a crown, and a rose are included in the iconography surrounding the dish’s rim. Additional images representing Cogsworth and Lumiere are also printed on the tea cup.
Belle also holds a bouquet of flowers, and stands in front of a silhouette of Beast. A “100” is hidden here with a rose acting as the “1” just to Belle’s right.
A silver version of Snow White’s castle is pictured on her accompanying saucer. Her silhouette, the same crown, and a flower surround the plate’s decorative rim.
The tea cup’s sides feature images of her forest friends, and she also poses alongside them in the cup’s interior. A “100” is painted along the top of the image, and Snow White poses in a seated position with her bouquet of flowers.
Cinderella’s iconic castle is printed in silver on her saucer. Her images include similar imagery to the previous installments, including a flower, a crown, and her silhouette patterned around the edge.
She wears her blue gown and holds a large bouquet of flowers, while the streams and ribbons flowing from her dress create a “100” behind her.
The last princess represented in this set is Jasmine. Her saucer follows the same theming as the others, including images of a crown, a different flower, and a silhouette of the princess. On the plate’s background is an image of her recognizable castle and Genie floating in front of it.
Jasmine’s tea cup has her seated with her knees drawn in, next to the magic lamp. She cradles a flower bouquet and a “100” is printed above her head in a wispy pattern. A sunset gradient sits behind her.

A wide variety of new Stitch merchandise is available at Walt Disney World at a few different locations we’ve visited recently. Everything shown below is from Star Traders in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom, Moana Mercantile at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and World of Disney at Disney Springs. Don’t worry, we’ll specify where each item came from, too.
Stitch Youth Hoodie – $39.99 (Star Traders)
Our first item evokes 90s neon colors, mixing dark blacks with bright yellows and pinks. Various green plants and cobalt shapes form the background, with a somewhat mischievous-looking Stitch waving at us.
This adult hoodie comes in a plain white color, with Stitch depicted on either side.
On the front, our little surfer splashes down on the water with his name below.
On the back, the primary artwork depicts him catching a wave with a surfboard and floral designs that match his color scheme of royal blue, aqua, and magenta.
This hair accessory set includes hair clips and a blue rubber band scrunchie, with a relaxed Stitch absorbing a tinge of golden sunshine emanating from the plumeria flowers.
Stitch Youth Shirt – $24.99 (Moana Mercantile)
Moving over to the Moana Mercantile at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, this youth t-shirt embraces a similar 90s style choice previously seen on some of the Star Traders apparel, though Stitch himself is far more prominent, gliding on the ocean with palm trees behind and “Experiment 626” (the order in which Stitch was created by Dr. Jumba) written below.
The background is mostly a bare white, with blank ink-looking dots splattered everywhere.
Stitch Youth Hat – $29.99 (Moana Mercantile)
A youth hat is also at the mercantile, with a green brim and mesh.
One size fits all — but do keep in mind, this is designed to fit children, not adults.
The front display is plain white, with a cheerful Stitch popping out of his name etched in aqua, bordered by crimson hibiscus flowers.
Stitch Hand Towels – $19.99 (World of Disney)
There’s a large assortment of bathroom accessories and materials related to Stitch at World of Disney in Disney Springs.
These hand towels utilize the same art found on that Moana Mercantile hat, on a plain white cloth with faint green lining.
Stitch Porcelain Toothbrush Holder – $24.99 (World of Disney)
“Ohana” means family — and as a family friend, Stitch wants to be sure nobody’s toothbrush gets left behind. From the front, this may just appear to be a model of him showcasing his sparkly whites.
In actuality, this is a toothbrush holder made of porcelain to store any and all brushes by the sink after use.
Surfing Stitch Shower Curtain – $44.99 (World of Disney)
The same artwork from the hoodie back at Star Traders can also be found her in the form of a shower curtain.
Hooks are included.
Stitch Bathmat – $34.99
A bathmat rendition of this beloved character can be found nearby, to help avoid slippery surfaces at home.
Stitch Adult Pajama Set – $54.99 (World of Disney)
World of Disney carries some new clothing, too, including this set of pajamas.
The shirt and shorts are both included in the price, with a floral print and subdued violet hue.
Stitch Adult Sweatshorts – $39.99 (World of Disney)
Continuing with a retro theme observed in most of these new apparel items, these black and white shorts are actually sweatpant shorts — sweatshorts. Bright, yellow, curvy lines and a pink waist tie add a little more visibility to a design that mostly doesn’t use color.
Aside from Stitch, of course.
Stitch Adult Shirt – $39.99 (World of Disney)
This shirt should look familiar, as it is the twin of the youth tee we spotted earlier in Moana Mercantile. While an adult version wasn’t seen over there, it is on the racks here.
While the version for children only had the primary artwork on the front and a plain background, the grown-up counterpart places the primary artwork on the back, with an extra, smaller version of the design in the front left corner.
