Soarin’ Around the World Adds Single Rider Line at Disney California Adventure

Disney California Adventure Park has quietly added a single rider line to Soarin’ Around the World.

Soarin’ Over California Adds Single Rider Line

soarin single rider DL3

We have confirmed that a Single Rider line is now available on Soarin’ Around the World at Disney California Adventure Park. In order to join the Single Rider line, guests must request access from a Cast Member. The tickets given only say “Soarin’” so they can be used during both Soarin’ Around the World and also Soarin’ Over California.

soarin single rider DL2

There’s no Single Rider signage up at this point. If you ask one of the Cast Members working the attraction, they’ll send you down a line adjacent to the Lightning Lane.

Soarin' has added a single rider line model.

It took about 30 seconds from when we got the Single Rider pass to viewing the pre-show for the ride.

Soarin’ can be a popular attraction and sometimes has long wait times. Choosing to utilize the new Single Rider line may be a great option if you’re wanting to see the attraction quickly and don’t mind being parted from your group. But beware, certain seats on Soarin’ Around the World distort the picture to an extreme extent, making the film appear very curved at the center.

Soarin’ Over California

Soarin’ Over California is a flight simulator attraction located in Disney California Adventure Park at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The attraction opened on February 8, 2001, as part of the park’s opening day attractions. Disney CEO at the time, Michael Eisner, hoped the park and attraction would draw in guests who wanted to experience all that California had to offer all in one place, instead of going sightseeing in other the world-famous locations the state has to offer.

Soarin’ Over California takes guests on a virtual hang gliding tour of some of California’s most iconic landmarks, including Yosemite National Park, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Napa Valley. The attraction uses a giant IMAX screen and motion seats to create the magic feeling of flight. The ride begins when guests are raised into the air, feet dangling below. The screen curves in front of guests, creating the illusion of being immersed in the scenery.

In 2016, Soarin’ Over California was replaced with Soarin’ Around the World, which features locations around the globe. This version is also available to view at EPCOT at Walt Disney World with the same title as well as Shanghai Disneyland under the name Soarin’ Over the Horizon. A slightly modified version also runs at Soaring: Fantastic Flight at Tokyo DisneySea. The original version of the attraction returns to Disney California Adventure annually as part of the park’s Food & Wine Festival.

Soarin’ is a fan favorite and on many guests’ lists as a “must do.” It does have a height requirement of 40 inches.

Make sure to take a look at some of our other recent Disneyland headlines using the links below:

Will you be queuing up as a single rider on Soarin’ Over California? Are you glad to see this option appear? We’d like to see your opinions in the comments below.

We DARE You To Resist the 5 NEW Treats at Karamell-Küche in EPCOT

Oh, EPCOT, you’ve given us snacks dreams are made of.

This cupcake, y’all

Pretzel Bread Pudding from Sommerfest in the Germany pavilion. Croque Glace from L’Artisan des Glaces in the France pavilion. Seasonal Poutine from the Refreshment Port. We could go on and on. But one of our favorite spots to stop for a sweet treat in EPCOT is a little place where the smell of caramel popcorn draws us in every time — Karamell-Küche. From fresh popcorn to Werther’s Original Gingerbread Salted Caramel Cookie Sandwich, this location is a goldmine for delicious snacks. And recently, they added not one, but FIVE new treats to the lineup.

On our last trip to this caramel-lovers heaven, we spotted a new collection in the bakery case. First, we noticed the Werther’s Original Strawberry Caramel Butter Bar for $4.99.

STRAWBERRY Butter Bar?!

Now, the original version of this bar has been a DFB favorite for a long time — a gooey, buttery shortbread cookie with a salty-sweet caramel topping. So, how does this new version measure up?

Strawberry Caramel Butter Bar

We enjoyed the flavors! It was sweet but a little salty, and well-balanced. The strawberry purée on top was a really prominent flavor that we liked — it was tart and sweet. The crunchy texture on the bottom complimented the soft buttery topping.

Delicious layers

Unfortunately, this did taste a little greasy. It started to fall apart pretty quickly, but it does have a lot of butter! We can’t fault it too much for that — it is one of the reasons we love it so much!

Next, we tried the Werther’s Original Cookie Dough Caramel for $4.99.

Werther’s Cookie Dough Caramel

This one is cookie dough topped with caramel and a chocolate drizzle. YUM.

We loved the cookie dough in this treat. It was pretty sweet but not overpoweringly so. It had almost a salty flavor, which we liked.

Cookie Dough Caramel

We wished there were more cookie dough in the treat, as the caramel flavor was a little overpowering when it was all put together. Still, we really enjoyed it!

Inside the treat!

Finally, we tried the Werther’s Original Snickerdoodle Sandwich for $6.99.

Werther’s Original Snickerdoodle Sandwich

This was made with two soft Snickerdoodle cookies with a Snickerdoodle icing filling and caramel in the middle.

Look at that caramel!!

As you can probably guess based on the ingredients, this treat was SWEET. If you don’t have a major sugar tooth, you’ll want to skip this one or at least share it between a few people. Although our reporter said it was way too sugary for one person to finish the whole thing, he also said it was very delicious.

The cream in the middle was our favorite part, as it’s very light and fluffy, so it pairs well with the thick caramel.

Inside the cookie sandwich

These three new treats made for a pretty tasty lineup!

The full spread

There were also two other treats that debuted this week — the Werther’s Original 100th Celebration Apple and the Werther’s Original Cupcake. We have seen this caramel apple in other bakery cases around the parks over the past few days, so keep an eye out for it! The cupcake is an updated version of a caramel cupcake we’ve seen during the 50th anniversary, so if you know and love that one (we do!) — make sure to pick up this version on your next trip.

YUM

And that’s all, folks! Karamell-Küche did it again. We’ll keep you posted on all the latest Disney food updates as we see them, so stay tuned to DFB for more!

Horror Night Nightmares released its most recent speculation map in late April, indicating some of the potential houses guests could see later this year. We have a full overview of the map available here.

Speculations does mean speculation, and it’s important to note that while these maps are made with effort and collaboration, Universal has no involvement with these rumors — it’s merely an educated guess amongst dedicated fans. Until announcements are made by Universal Studios Hollywood, everything here is subject to change, made apparent by how different this current map is from the first one we saw at the beginning of March.

PHOTOS: Final 50th Anniversary Celebration Decorations Removed from Cinderella Castle

The last remaining golden ribbon turret topper was finally removed from Cinderella Castle, returning the structure to its pre-Anniversary state.

50th Anniversary Celebration Decorations Removed

Cinderella Castle no 50th 2
The 50th Anniversary Celebration decorations have finally been removed from Cinderella Castle.

Cinderella Castle still had one lingering golden ribbon turret topper as of yesterday. It has since been removed.

Cinderella Castle no 50th 3

The castle will retain its pink color scheme as of now.

Cinderella Castle no 50th 4

For the first time in over two years, there are no 50th Anniversary Celebration decorations on Cinderella Castle.

Cinderella Castle no 50th 9

The moat, which was drained to help facilitate the removal of the castle’s decorations, has not yet been refilled.

Cinderella Castle no 50th 7

A metal staircase is still in place for Cast Members to safely traverse the area. A cherry picker is parked near the castle as well.

On the castle, the 50th anniversary decorations previously included a giant “50” medallion over the clock. This was the first piece of décor removed after the celebration ended. There were also multiple pieces of decorative bunting removed, as well as anniversary banners around Cinderella Castle celebrating the artwork of famous Disney artist Mary Blair.

Though the castle was painted for the celebration before it began, there has been no news of returning it to its previous color scheme. Embellishments continue to be removed; we expect Cast Members will perform touch-ups to the existing paint on Cinderella Castle. They will not perform a complete repainting at this time.

Along with the pink and blue colors of Cinderella Castle, the Golden Fab 50 statues will also remain. These statues respond to guests wearing a MagicBand+ with sounds when a visitor interacts with them. Usually, a simple wave will do the trick. Many of the statues have had seasonal messages or multiple responses to interactions, so be sure to give them a wave the next time you pass one while wearing a MagicBand+.

“The World’s Most Magical Celebration” ended in March. We saw the first decorations removed at the beginning of March. The 50th anniversary decorations were also removed from Main Street, U.S.A.

What do you think? The 50th Anniversary Celebration décor is completely removed from the castle. How do you feel about this? We’d like to know in the comments below.
