Parting is such sweet sorrow. Once again, Disney giveth, and Disney taketh away.

You might remember a certain spork situation we experienced in both Disneyland and Disney World when Galaxy’s Edge first opened in each park. At one point, dishes at Docking Bay 7 were served with a futuristic-looking spork — until guests started stealing them and POOF! Gone. And now, we’re afraid, something similar has happened again.

The newest table service spot at Hollywood Studios in Roundup Rodeo BBQ. This rootin’ tootin’ restaurant serves All-You-Care-to-Enjoy BBQ fare served family-style. Platters feature house-smoked meats, classic sides, and miniature “sweet surprises,” and you can see the FULL MENU with food photos here.

If you’ve been to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you probably already understand the premise of the area: you’ve been shrunk down to the size of a toy! That’s why Slinky Dog is so HUGE when you ride Slinky Dog Dash and why the toys in the area are GINORMOUS. Roundup Rodeo BBQ is the same — you’ve been shrunk and are now part of a rodeo arena created by Andy himself.

And, since you’re supposed to now be the size of a small toy, it only makes sense that everything else around you is pretty darn huge — down to the pencil you have to sign your check with! That’s right, when folks go to pay at the end of their meal here, they’re handed a GIANT, oversized pencil.

Or at least, they were! We confirmed with a Roundup Rodeo BBQ Cast Member that they are no longer handing out the giant pencils to guests when they sign their checks. The Cast Member didn’t share exactly why Disney made this decision or if it had anything to do with guests taking the pencils from the restaurant, but did share that it’s possible we could see the pencils return in the future.

When we experienced a similar situation during Spork Gate, Cast Members indicated that the change was due to the fact that people were stealing the utensils. So, while we’re not sure that’s the case here, all we’re sayin’ is: DO NOT STEAL THINGS FROM DISNEY WORLD. Actually, just maybe don’t steal things at all. It’s what Walt would want (probably).

We spotted a wild new Loungefly miniature backpack available at Mombasa Marketplace in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Animal Print Minnie Mouse Loungefly – $78.00

This Loungefly features a front pouch, Minnie Mouse ears, and a pink bow on the front.

The straps are padded and pale sepia color to match the animal print.

Side pockets are available on this Loungefly. The zipper and adjustment hardware is silver.

The pattern on the main body of the backpack is a debossed leopard print with Mickey Mouse heads.

The metal branding plaque reads Disney Parks and is set atop a black faux leather patch.

The printed pattern has olive green, taupe, and pale coral pink included in the palette.

The carrying handle matches the padded straps.

The bag’s interior lining is a pale pink and black tiger stripe pattern.

Loungefly Design Features

Loungefly bags feature a wide variety of licensed characters and designs, including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, and even sports teams and anime. Loungefly backpacks are also known for their high quality construction and durability.

These backpacks and bags have unique design features that make them different from other mini backpacks. Based on these elements, a consumer can know a lot about a particular piece simply by looking at the branding plaque. Let’s take a closer look at these details.

Plaques

Each backpack, cross-body bag, and purse made by Loungefly has a branding plate, or plaque, that communicates the overall value of the bag.

The highest quality (and highest priced) bags feature metal plates. These are the only ones found at Disney Parks. They are also found on high-end backpacks or limited-edition Loungefly accessories sold elsewhere. The more economically priced bags feature a fabric tag instead.

Zipper Pulls

The bags featuring a fabric tag are not made more poorly; they simply have fewer upscale design features included in the piece. For example, a metal-tagged bag will usually have a themed pattern on the interior lining, and possibly a shaped zipper pull, often made of enamel and always themed after the bag’s motif. Fabric-tagged bags will not have these features, and will have a standard zipper.

Straps

Loungefly backpacks, regardless of price, have straps that are crafted to be durable. The bags featuring metal plaques have padding in the straps for extra comfort. Fabric tagged bags do not have the extra cushioning.

There are lots of unique cocktails in Disney World, from the mouth-numbing Fuzzy Tauntaun to the huge menu of tequila-based drinks at La Cava in EPCOT. But we just found one that you absolutely will NOT want to miss.

We’ve seen some great new food and drink offerings celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month at Disney World recently but none so far that you could experience from home…until now.

We recently took a trip to Disney Springs to hunt down a cocktail that can only be described as magical. Our search led us to The BOATHOUSE to try out their latest concoction, which features — drum roll please — color-changing gin!

After stopping by the restaurant, we were seated at the gorgeous Dockside Bar. From there, we asked about their latest creation the “Changing Tides” cocktail.

This drink is made of the Conniption Kinship Gin, Butterfly Pea Flowers Tincture, and Yuzu Tonic with extra lime. The Conniption Kinship Gin is poured into the glass first, and it changes from a stunning indigo to a vibrant glowing purple once the Yuzu Tonic is added to the glass. Take a look!

The citrus in the soda reacts with the butterfly pea flower to create that magical color change.

They’ve also added a few mixed berries for extra flavor and brought it all together with an Orchid flower on top. It’s really a cool experience to watch the magic happen.

As for the taste, the Conniption Kinship Gin was very smooth with a citrusy, floral taste, and the tincture was mostly added for extra color. Combining the gin with the Yuzu Tonic gave it an extra layer of character that almost mimicked a carbonated feel as it trickles down your throat.

Overall this drink is really fun not only to see but also to taste. And this was an incredible way to watch some magic happen right before your eyes. The most exciting part of all is the news that you can bring this magic gin home too! We found several stores around the Orlando area and even in other states that now carry this exact brand of Conniption Kinship Gin by Durham Distillery, and if you’re ready to spice up your home collection, you can find the nearest retailer by clicking here!
