The merchandise kiosks lining the walkway between World Celebration and World Showcase at EPCOT have been refurbished and look to be being prepped to reopen.
EPCOT Merchandise Kiosks
This bridge connects World Celebration (formerly Future World) to the World Showcase at EPCOT. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the walkway was lined with merchandise kiosks on either side.
Since reopening following pandemic closures, these kiosks have remained closed.
As of today, the merchandise kiosks have had the oversized canopies removed and have been repainted by hand.
It would appear that these kiosks are being prepared to be reopened in the future.

Journey of Water Construction Update
Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” is set to open late this year in the World Nature neighborhood. The walkthrough attraction is getting closer to completion with the addition of the first entry signage at the attraction.
Thanks to Twitter user bioreconstruct, we got a look at the attraction’s entrance today, where the first of the warning and entry signage has been installed.
Unfortunately, the image is not clear enough to make out what the signage says in detail, although we can see “Journey of Water” as well as accessibility symbols. Obviously being a walkthrough attraction, there won’t be any height indicators to install.
According to CEO Bob Iger, Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” is the last step in the years-long EPCOT reimagining. It’s expected to open later this year, along with Dreamer’s Point, CommuniCore Hall, and CommuniCore Plaza.
Journey of Water concept art shows flowing waterfalls as well as water jumping over pathways. The giant Te Fiti statue sits next to a pool of water near the back of the attraction. It’s part of the World Nature neighborhood of EPCOT and is set to open this fall.
We last took a close look into the site about a month ago. Construction materials were piled near the entrance, where a planter was still being filled with foliage. Guests enter next to the rock structure carved with Te Fiti’s swirl symbol. Pathways are clearly visible, lined with small rocks.
Trees encircle the attraction. We saw crew members working under the triangular canopies that cover one section.
The curved poles are lampposts and orb-shaped lamps have already been hung from some of them. Ropes are wrapped around the poles, which are clustered together in groups of two or three. The walkthrough attraction is made up of water features built into fake rockwork. The rocks are covered in fake plants and moss and feature some Easter egg carvings.
A sidewalk cuts between construction walls towards the center of EPCOT, the future location of Dreamer’s Point with a new Walt Disney statue.
The water features will be controlled from this station covered by two metal awnings and surrounded by green fencing. Right now, the station is completely visible, but with more trees and foliage, it will probably be mostly hidden from guest view — at least, on the ground. It may still be visible from the Monorail.
Check out our list of every new attraction coming to Disney Parks in 2023, which includes Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana.” The walkthrough attraction may include some MagicBand+ interaction.
