A new Perfect Picnic Basket Popcorn Bucket is available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios just outside Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Perfect Picnic Basket Popcorn Bucket – $25.00
The new Perfect Picnic Basket Popcorn Bucket can be found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, at the popcorn stand near the bathrooms by Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
The bucket isn’t listed on the menu, but it costs $25.00. The popcorn can be refilled for $2.25, and is valid for your entire vacation.
The basket is plastic with a large, iconic white Mickey glove. Guests place their hand into the glove, and there is a place to hold and carry the basket inside. This gives the appearance of having a giant Mickey Mouse hand as you carry your picnic basket around the park.
A graphic of Mickey and Minnie Mouse alongside Pluto and Chuuby decorates the top lid. The red and white checkered blanket is decorative plastic and cannot be removed.
The basket is covered with a woven pattern and a couple little ant friends who want to join in the fun. This one is enjoying a tiny sandwich.
A Mickey Mouse head decorates the side, and a bright blue lanyard comes attached to the basket as well.
The lanyard’s pattern features small black Mickey Mouse heads, picnic foods, and whirlwind tornadoes, referencing a scene in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Guests may carry the bucket by the lanyard or the handle. Unlike the Disneyland version, this popcorn bucket does not have the option to be bundled with a real picnic blanket.
At Disneyland, this basket retails for $25.99 and includes the guest’s choice of three select items plus one beverage. Guests can also upgrade to the Perfect Picnic Pack, which adds a picnic blanket for a total of $36.00. The blanket can also be purchased separately for $14.99. Those options are not available at Walt Disney World.
The crew looks happy to be going on their Perfect Picnic.
The lanyard also features the Disney Parks logotype.
The strap is adjustable.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in March 2020, just days before Walt Disney World was forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It reopened with the rest of the park a few months later.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opened at Disneyland in January 2023, ahead of the rest of the reimagined Mickey’s Toontown. The two versions of the ride are almost identical, but their façades and queues are quite different.
In the pre-show for the ride, guests view part of the “Perfect Picnic” animated short created for the attraction before “entering” the cartoon itself. They board a train controlled by Goofy, but things go awry when the train cars disconnect. Mickey and Minnie, who were heading to a picnic with Pluto, race after the cars, keeping guests out of harm’s way.
