We spotted several pieces of the Disney100 Decades Collection for the 1950s at Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom today.
Disney100 Decades Collection Shaggy Dog Plush – $34.99
Celebrating the 1959 Disney film called “The Shaggy Dog,” this canine plush is sporting a sweater and a matching blue fedora.
The film’s premise according to Disney is: “Through an ancient spell, a boy changes into a sheepdog and back again. It seems to happen at inopportune times and the spell can only be broken by an act of bravery.” A similar film with the same title was made in 2006 staring Tim Allen. They are both available to stream on Disney+.
The dog’s eyes are embroidered on. A soft white plush covers the toy.
A black “S” applique is on the dog’s sweater.
Disney100 Decades Collection Goofy and Humphrey Camera Pin – $34.99
This pin features Goofy taking a photograph of Humphrey the Bear.
Humphrey the Bear is a cartoon character created in 1950 at Walt Disney Animation Studios. His first appearance was in the 1950 Goofy cartoon “Hold That Pose,” in which Goofy tries to take his picture.
The pin has moving parts which allows a “photo” to drop down out of the camera.
Disney100 Decades Collection ‘Cinderella’ Lenticular Loungefly – $88.00
This Loungefly features a cutout lenticular image of Cinderella in her ballgown, surrounded by her animal friends and the Fairy Godmother.
Her dress shifts from the beautiful gown gifted to her from the Fairy Godmother to the torn rags she wears after being attacked by her step-sisters.
The top of the bag has a carriage and vine motif. Major and Bruno are included on the right side, too.
White sparkles line the side pocket. The branding plaque is purple and does not say Disney Parks, unlike most Loungefly that are sold on resort property.
Magical sparkles are printed on the opposite side as well. The bag has light gray detailing alongside the purple gradient.
The padded straps are light gray as well, and a printed image of Cinderella Castle and her carriage are on the back.
The carriage bears a “C” for Cinderella. A platinum popcorn bucket was recently released in this shape, as well.
The Disney100 Decades logo is on a special badge near the top of the bag.
The interior features pumpkins, sparkles, and characters from “Cinderella.”
Disney100 Decades Collection: 1950s
Disney has recently been releasing merchandise collections to celebrate different time periods within the company’s history. Moving decade by decade, Disney is releasing a new merchandise line about once per month.
The first of the Disney100 Decades Collections was the 1920s series inspired by “Steamboat Willie.”
The 1930s Disney100 Decades Collection featured merch inspired by “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “The Band Concert,” and more classic characters.
The 1940s collection was inspired by “Pinocchio,” “Fantasia,” “Dumbo,” and Scrooge McDuck.
The 1950s collection focused on Goofy, “Alice in Wonderland,” “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” and of course, “Cinderella.” The details for this merchandise were released only a few days ago, and much of the Disney100 Decades Collection merchandise is still available on shopDisney.
