The new — and Magic Key Holder-exclusive — Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Hat Bowl has arrived at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream in Disney California Adventure.
Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Hat Bowl – $17.19
We stopped by Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream today to get the new Mickey Mouse Ear Hat Bowl, which is an exclusive treat for Magic Key holders.
There are two different sundaes to choose from; PB&J Banana Split and Chocolate Brownie. We went with the PB&J Banana Split Sundae today.
The PB&J Banana Split Sundae is made with chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice creams and is topped with peanut butter, chocolate, and strawberry sauce, banana, and waffle cone pieces.
Overall, we liked the sundae, however, we didn’t really like the peanut butter. We wished it could have been better quality for the price of the sundae. Once we mixed everything together, the taste really improved.
The waffle cone added some crunchy texture — which we really liked. The “jelly” in this case, is the strawberry topping. It was a huge portion and is very easily shareable.
The sundae comes in a very generously sized cup, separate from the ears bowl. In the past, they were served inside of the souvenir items, making it very messy and sticky. This was a welcome change, in our opinion.
The ears bowl itself looks like a scoop of chocolate ice cream with colorful sprinkles on top. The ears look like two waffles covered in chocolate fudge and sprinkles.
There is a tiny chocolate Mickey Mouse icon on the center of the bowl which has a tiny bite taken out of the ear, revealing the white center — which appears to also be ice cream.
A closer look at the left ear shows the chocolate fudge dripping down the waffle into the shape of a tiny Mickey Mouse-shaped head. Could this be a hidden Mickey? A small red cherry is added as a garnish.
The right ear also features the same design — with the chocolate fudge sauce dripping down the waffle to form a tiny Mickey Mouse-shaped head.
The back of the ears bowl has the “Disneyland Resort” logo printed across it.
The ears can easily be moved all the way forward or backward. This is a lifesaver when it comes to storing these types of items. The protruding ears usually make it impossible to fit nicely anywhere.
The ear hat bowl opens up to reveal a pretty large inner bowl which is perfect for a sundae, popcorn, or whatever treat you so choose.
