The latest episode of Disney Vacation Club’s “Disney Drop-In” gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the construction of The Villas at Disneyland Hotel.
The Villas at Disneyland Hotel
Host Ryan March visited the construction site for the Villas at Disneyland Hotel, where Imagineers showed him an unfinished corridor, a partially constructed room, the building’s lobby, and the breezeway that will lead to the Monorail pool.
The corridors have alternating D shapes inspired by the resort’s logo.
The unfinished room featured artwork of Princess Aurora’s animal friends in the closet space.
The wood paneling on a Murphy bed is decorated with banners reminiscent of those in Sleeping Beauty’s kingdom.
Orange pieces have already been placed on the breezeway ceiling. Compare the above screenshot to the artist rendering below.
March and the Imagineers also visited the site of the semi-detached poolside rooms that will be connected to the main building with a bridge.
March also visited an off-side model corridor and room. This mock-up of a deluxe studio helps Imagineers create their designs, test lighting, and play with the room’s layout.
This model room and corridor also featured “Sleeping Beauty” inspired touches. Compare to the artist rendering below.
