We’re getting a blizzard of holiday news from the Disney parks lately as they celebrate Halfway to the Holidays!
Now that we finally have dates announced for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, have learned about another exclusive after-hours party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Disney Jollywood Nights, and have got a sneak peek at the exclusive holiday merch, it’s time to answer a burning question!
We know there’s a LOT to do during these holiday parties and sometimes it’s hard to pack in everything you want to do in one night. But let’s be honest, is it really a party at Disney World if you’re not going on a ride or two?
It looks like Disney is aiming to help you figure out a way to fit it all in! They’ve now confirmed that during the party nights, both TRON Lightcycle / Run at Magic Kingdom AND Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be operating with a virtual queue.
Here are all the details you need to know about the virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom:
- You can join the virtual queue starting at 6PM on the night that you’re attending the holiday party
- A standby line will NOT be available — you must enter the virtual queue in order to ride
- You can only request to enter the virtual queue ONCE per event
- The 6PM virtual queue is only available to you on the day of the event you are attending, and your event tickets must be linked in your My Disney Experience account in order to join the queue
- You do NOT have to be in Magic Kingdom in order to join the virtual queue as long as your tickets are linked in your account
We’re still waiting for Disney to announce specific details for the Rise of the Resistance virtual queue, which will be available during the new Jollywood Nights holiday party at Hollywood Studios.
Using a virtual queue rather than waiting in standby lines will likely significantly increase your ability to experience other party happenings like stopping for exclusive treats, meeting with rare characters in their holiday outfits, taking in a merry stage show, and watching the dazzling fireworks.
This seems like it’s a continuation of when Disney announced TRON Lightcycle / Run would operate on a virtual queue during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties. You’ll be able to join the virtual queue starting at 6PM on the night you’re attending the party and track the progress of your boarding group through the evening so you can spend less time in line to ride popular attractions and more time celebrating elsewhere in the park!
We’re thrilled that Disney is looking to make it easier to fit in what you want to do most during these party nights and we think this is a great start. For the latest updates on all the holiday happenings, stay tuned with us at Disney Food Blog.
