There are constantly new things to try at Disney World, and we work to bring you ALL of the latest updates so that you can best plan for your next trip!
We have shared updated reviews for some of the most talked about restaurants. We recently tried a new chocolate treat at Magic Kingdom and we are looking forward to the over 60(!!) new items coming to Disney Springs soon. Now, we’re heading into Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom where you’ll find something NEW that looks very much like a science experiment gone…wrong.
Energy Bytes, the snack stand next to TRON Lightcycle/Run, has seen some menu changes lately. Recently we saw that its 2 savory options suddenly DISAPPEARED from the menu. And now, we spotted a NEW drink that has been added to the menu.
The NEW Pina Colada Slushy can be purchased for $5.99.

This is a drink made with Chipotle Pineapple, Matcha, and Popping Candy. Let’s start with the look. As you stare down into the drink, you may be a bit…disgusted? Confused? There’s a LOT going on here and it sort of looks like the top of the drink is covered in MOLD! What is with Disney and moldy-looking snacks — anyone remember that bread from Disneyland?
Of course, it’s not covered in mold — that’s just all of the matcha powder and popping candy but still — you’ll need to get past that initial shock to really enjoy this one. And we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised once you go past its less-than-attractive topping!
Overall, we enjoyed the drink but there is a BIG WARNING we need to give you — MIX IT! We took a quick sip before mixing and were met with a strong matcha powder taste. But, once mixed, it proved to be a sweet and tropical drink with a nice spicy kick to balance it out. It was refreshing and light — great for a hot day!
The popping candy was SO fun. It added a really unique texture but be warned — it is loud. Also, keep in mind that this is NOT your average Pina Colada. The spicy chipotle pineapples take it to another level so you’ll want to go in expecting that.
If you don’t love matcha, pineapple-coconut, or spicy drinks, you’ll want to skip this one. But if you like those flavors and remember to MIX, MIX, MIX, we think this is one you could really enjoy. Our reporter shared that they’d totally get this again, but we are partial to the pineapple-coconut combination. Do you remember our love for the Tropical Serenade?
