Three “Jurassic Park” vehicles have arrived at Universal CityWalk Orlando for the film’s 30th anniversary this weekend, replacing the “Fast X” cars that were previously on display.
Jurassic Park Vehicles
Two vehicles, a Ford Explorer and a Jeep Wrangler, are parked outside the Cinemark.
In “Jurassic Park,” the Jeeps are used by staff, while the Fords are meant for guest tours.
The Jeep is silver and red, with the “Jurassic Park” logo on the doors. This one is modeled after Jeep 12, which is used by Dennis Nedry.
The famous Barbasol can containing dinosaur embryos carried by Nedry sits in the Jeep’s front windshield.
A Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary Tribute Store sticker is on the back window.
Another sticker lets us know that these vehicles are provided by the Florida division of Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a group of fans who re-create the film’s vehicles. This particular Jeep was created by Jurassic Vic, who shared a video on TikTok of the vehicles:
Jurassic Vic’s TikTok account features more looks at his various Jurassic Park Jeeps, as well as other vehicles inspired by movies.
The Ford Explorer is painted yellow, green, and red, with “Jurassic Park” across the doors.
It’s modeled after EXP 004, as seen by the tag hanging in the window.
EXP 004 is the one that Donald Gennaro, Tim Murphy, and Lex Murphy rode in.
Tim’s blue backpack and copy of “Dinosaur Detectives” by Dr. Alan Grant sit in the back seat.
Lex Murphy’s ball cap and a Jurassic Park brochure are in the front seat.
The T. rex attacked this vehicle after Gennaro abandoned the kids.
Another Jurassic Park Jeep, this one labeled number 24, is parked close to the Universal Studios Florida entrance.
While this one has a different number on the side, it also has a version of the Barbasol can in the windshield.
The first “Jurassic Park” film premiered at Uptown Theater in Washington D.C. on June 9, 1993, before its wide release on June 11.
Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary at Universal Orlando Resort
In honor of the 30th anniversary of “Jurassic Park,” the summer Tribute Store at Universal Studios Florida is themed to the film, featuring re-creations of iconic scenes and new merchandise. Give Kids the World loaned Universal Orlando Resort Trixie the Triceratops, a life-size dinosaur model, to sit outside the store. Read our review of the shirtless Ian Malcolm brownie available at the Tribute Store.
A new Velociraptor egg Mold-A-Rama machine is in the Discovery Center at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. More 30th anniversary merchandise is also available in the Discovery Center. A “Jurassic Park” 30th anniversary tiki cup is also available in Universal’s Islands of Adventure and a Freestyle mug is available throughout the resort.
Universal CityWalk Orlando
CityWalk is a shopping and dining complex at the entrance to Universal Orlando Resort free to enter. Guests walk through it to reach Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
In addition to restaurants like Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen and Pat O’Brien’s, CityWalk has an AMC movie theatre and Universal’s Great Movie Escape. The latter attraction features escape rooms inspired by “Jurassic World” and “Back to the Future.”
For the first time this year, CityWalk and Universal’s Islands of Adventure participated in Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval.
The Red Coconut Club has been rethemed throughout the past year to reflect different holidays and Universal Orlando Resort festivals. Most recently, it’s been The Cursed Coconut Club for Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Mardi Gras. For Halloween Horror Nights 31, the venue was transformed into a Universal Monsters theme and met with great success in its shift to the Dead Coconut Club. During the holiday season, the venue was revamped again to open as Green & Red Coconut Club, which gave the club a holiday theme replacing the monsters with Christmas trees and twinkling lights.
Universal Destinations & Experiences revealed a series of new logos, including the new CityWalk logo, in March 2023. The new neon pink Universal CityWalk logo recently debuted on a Mother’s Day sign.
