An important part of your Disney World trip is where you choose to eat. To dine at Disney World’s Table Service restaurants, you must have a reservation (or at least it’s highly recommended — some restaurants take walk-ups, depending on availability). However, making those reservations is proving to be VERY difficult today!

Disney’s technology is sometimes less than reliable, and that’s proving true today as the dining reservation system appears to have completely shut down.

We noticed this afternoon that Disney’s website seemed to be struggling. We got a few different error messages when trying to look at restaurant pages, and then we chatted online with a Cast Member to see if we could get to the bottom of it. They told us that “all of [Disney’s] dining reservation systems are experiencing magical enhancements,” which sounds like Disney speak for technical difficulties.

When we tried to use the My Disney Experience app on our phones, we got a message that said, “Pardon the Inconvenience: At this time, we are unable to make new dining reservations or Enchanting Extras Collection bookings online or over the phone. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

For now, Disney seems to have completely paused bookings for all new dining reservations. The Cast Member who we spoke to said that we’d just have to keep checking back to see when reservations reopened.

We’ll watch for updates and let you know when bookings are possible again!

This is certainly not the first time we’ve seen Disney run into technical difficulties. The app sometimes struggles to load information, and rides occasionally shut down in the park due to system issues. There’s often no great solution to these problems — you just have to wait it out and keep watching for the issues to be resolved.
