It seems there’s construction all over EPCOT right now. More scaffolding has gone up in the Canada Pavilion, and work continues at the Morocco Pavilion and World Celebration.
Canada Pavilion
Construction began earlier this month at the Canada Pavilion, when scaffolding, scrim, and construction walls went up on one side of the Hotel du Canada façade.
More scaffolding has been erected on the side of the building facing the bridge and the back of the building.
Scrim is only around the bottom of the scaffolding, which reaches all the way up to the towers of the building.
Canada Pavilion shops and Le Cellier Steakhouse remain open.
Part of the walkway around the rocky structures of the pavilion is blocked off during construction.
This construction is presumably for general maintenance.
Morocco Pavilion
The Morocco Pavilion has been through several refurbishments in the past few years after Disney took over control of the area.
Near the front of the pavilion, right next to the tile fountain, rolling planters are around a crane that’s covered in a tarp.
Earlier this year, we saw work on the tops of the Morocco Pavilion façades. The crane may be for a continuation of this project.
Further into the pavilion, we noticed this box, usually used to cover small structures or pavement work.
A second crane remains behind planters next to the Nejjarine fountain.
We haven’t seen any obvious work in this area, even though the crane has been here for over three months.
CommuniCore Hall
Earlier this month, tall white poles were installed in CommuniCore Plaza next to CommuniCore Hall.
The poles are around the future site of the Plaza Stage. The poles stick out of the ground diagonally and have gaps in the inner section, perhaps suggesting they will hold lights or speakers for the stage setup.
Weather-proof sheathing and paneling continues to be installed on CommuniCore Hall, which is scheduled to open this year.
Other EPCOT construction projects include Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana” and the UK Pavilion restrooms refurbishment. New gardens, Dreamers Point, and a giant version of the EPCOT logo will be in the center of World Celebration soon.
