Universal’s Island of Adventure has added new privacy bushes in front of the test seat at the Jurassic World VelociCoaster.
Test Seat Privacy Bushes Added in Front of the Jurassic World VelociCoaster
In front of the queue entrance for the Jurassic World VelociCoaster is a test seat for guest use. The purpose of the test seat is to make sure guests fit comfortably within the restraints and will be able to ride the coaster.
Universal has added several privacy bushes around this test seat to allow guests to check if they fit without feeling like other park guests are watching them.
The bushes also prevent people from using the test seats as a general use bench or for pictures.
A bag size check is also available in this space to make sure your belongings will not have any problem fitting inside the provided lockers. The sign reads: “Check the size of your bag. Free lockers while you ride for small personal items. Paid lockers available inside the Discovery Center for large personal items.”
Personal belongings are not permitted on this attraction, so if your bags do not fit in the free locker, you’ll have to grab a paid one in the Discovery Center.
The sign above the test seat behind the bushes reads: “Test this seat before riding. This ride employs safety restraints which may restrict certain guests from riding due to body shape and size. Please use this test seat to ensure your ability to ride.”
If a guest does not fit safely within the seat’s parameters, Team Members will not allow them to ride the Jurassic World VelociCoaster due to safety concerns. This test seat enables guests to check for a good fit before waiting in line.
The sign out front reads: “This attraction’s seat restraints may not accommodate guests with certain body dimensions. Please use this test seat to ensure your ability to safely ride.” The signage and planters prevent guests from casually sitting in the test seats, allowing the guests who need them to check for a safe fit.
The Jurassic World VelociCoaster is a launch roller coaster located at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Manufactured by Intamin, the ride opened on June 10, 2021. Universal famously claimed it was simply building a churro snack cart before the ride was officially announced. The coaster is themed for a velociraptor dinosaur paddock, similar to the ones depicted in the Jurassic World film franchise. The ride occupies the site of the former Triceratops Encounter attraction.
