Construction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has now impacted nearby Pooh Corner as construction walls surround the back of the store. Take a look with us.
Earlier this week, the Disneyland iteration of Splash Mountain permanently closed. Almost immediately, construction walls were erected around the area as it transitions to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The construction has now reached nearby Pooh Corner.
Pooh Corner Construction
The back half of Pooh’s Corner is closed off with construction walls, but the store still remains open.
As you can see in the photo above, the windows are iced over to block any views of the construction going on.
All of the windows that had any view of Splash Mountain are now iced over as Disney prepares for the transformation of the ride into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Construction walls now surround the back part of Pooh’s Corner. The construction walls are the same ones that are around the Splash Mountain construction site in Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
Guests can still enter the store on the right, but the back area is closed off. It is unclear if it is a temporary closure or if it will remain like this until construction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is complete.
Pooh Corner is in Critter Country and is right near the construction site for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. According to Disney, they expect the new ride to open in 2024.
What may be the last Splash Mountain souvenir you can get in Disneyland can be found right here. The middle machine sells Splash Mountain pressed pennies. It is unclear how long the Splash Mountain-themed pressed pennies will remain in the machine.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure takes place after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.” The Splash Mountain landscaping will be updated to make it look more like a Louisiana bayou. The iconic tree that was included in the original concept art will be removed as it doesn’t fit the new backstory.
While Splash Mountain was part of Critter Country, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be absorbed into the neighboring New Orleans Square. Right now, guests can visit Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, a shop featuring “The Princess and the Frog” merchandise as well as New Orleans-related items. Tiana’s Palace, replacing French Market Restaurant, is under construction.
The attraction will follow Tiana venturing into the bayou to find animal friends. She’ll be hosting a party for the people of New Orleans, but missing a special ingredient. Some of the original cast will be providing their voices to the attraction, including Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Bruno Campos (Naveen), Michael Leon Wooley (Louis), and Jennifer Lewis (Mama Odie).
This week, one of the largest-ever announcements regarding this ride’s interior details was made, indicating 17 uniquely original characters and dozens of new audio-animatronics, along with a musical composition team composed of award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard.
