Scaffolding, scrim, and construction walls have gone up around Embarcadero Gifts, the Pandora jewelry location in Disney California Adventure, and the adjacent restrooms.
Embarcadero Gifts & Restrooms
Embarcadero Gifts is next to The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure.
The store remains open, as signs on the construction walls state.
Scaffolding covers both sides of the building’s corner façade.
The scrim starts on the next façade, where the Bay Area restrooms are.
Both Embarcadero Gifts and the Bay Area restrooms are technically part of Pacific Wharf, the San Francisco-themed area of the park, so this construction work may be related to the land’s San Fransokyo transformation.
It could also just be general maintenance. Most San Fransokyo theming has been across the land’s bridge.
Another sign points guests to the still-open restrooms and ATM.
The scaffolding around the restroom’s façade is covered in tan-colored scrims.
The scrim extends over the walkway at the border of Grizzly Peak.
Scrim isn’t up around the side of the building, but we couldn’t see any ongoing work.
San Fransokyo Square
Right now, Pacific Wharf is largely known as a food court for Disney California Adventure. Along with Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill, other options in the land include Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, Pacific Wharf Cafe, Rita’s Baja Blenders, and Pacific Wharf Distribution Co. So far, we know Lucky Fortune Cookery and Cocina Cucamonga will remain after the land becomes San Fransokyo Square.
The “Big Hero 6” re-theme is largely cosmetic and there won’t be a new attraction in San Fransokyo Square.
However, guests will be able to visit a new permanent Baymax meet-and-greet. San Fransokyo Square is expected to fully open this summer.
