A TikTok user shared a video of a TRON Lightcycle Run rider losing an item on the new roller coaster at Magic Kingdom.
User Alyssa Disney Travel shared a video of TRON Lightcycle Run from the ground. As a coaster car passes, something can be seen falling from it. It falls into a backstage area near the Walt Disney World Railroad tunnel. Alyssa writes in the caption, “The lockers are super easy, reliable and you won’t lose your belongings on the ride and risk hurting anyone, too!”
TRON Lightcycle Run is one of two Walt Disney World attractions with its own dedicated lockers. The other is Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While guests can bring bags on the latter ride, their items will get wet. TRON Lightcycle Run requires guests to lock up bags and large items.
The double-sided lockers are before the ride’s load area. They are split into numbered sections.
Lockers are unlocked with MagicBands or plastic ticket cards; MagicMobile tickets on smartphones do not work, and guests without physical ticket media must request a white RFID card from Cast Members. The lockers are free to use.
Like Alyssa points out, falling items mean not only may your belongings be permanently lost or damaged, but they could also injure someone walking below the roller coaster.
Locker rentals are also available near the entrance to each Walt Disney World theme park and water park for $10-$15 a day.
TRON Lightcycle Run
TRON Lightcycle Run is a new high-speed roller coaster experience in the Tomorrowland area of Magic Kingdom with sudden acceleration, sharp turns, drops, and a style of seating and restraints reminiscent of a motorcycle or bicycle. It is a replica of the original version that debuted at Shanghai Disneyland as an opening day attraction in 2016, and debuted this past April.
The queue, canopy area, and attraction itself all take inspiration from the 1982 film “TRON” and its 2010 sequel, “TRON Legacy.” The original played a pivotal role in the history and development of computer animation in movies. We have a full guide to TRON and its associated new offerings right here.
Virtual Queue is free and dispensed twice each day — once at 7 a.m. (which you can book remotely with a valid park reservation through the My Disney Experience app) and again at 1 p.m. (all guests must be physically in the park at this time). Guests are placed in boarding groups, and updated throughout the day on which groups are being called.
We recently learned that TRON Lightcycle Run will utilize virtual queue during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party this year. Read the details.
