Disney has been doing some interesting things with its TV shows lately.

Disney Channel and Disney Junior shows are also available to stream on Disney+ the day after they air on TV. However, while Disney+ has some series that are UNIQUE to the streaming service, Disney has also brought some of those shows to broadcast TV, like American Born Chinese. Well, now, a MARVEL TV series from Disney+ is headed to ABC.

ABC will be airing all six episodes of the Disney+ series, Ms. Marvel, on ABC. This will be the first time a Disney+ Marvel show has ever aired on broadcast TV. The series will debut on August 5th with its first three episodes from 8-11PM ET, followed by the last three episodes on August 12th from 8-11PM ET.

All 6 episodes of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel will air on ABC starting next month. The first 3 episodes will air Saturday, Aug. 5 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/PT followed by the last 3 on Aug. 12 during the same time slot.

This will be the first time that a Marvel series will have been aired outside of Disney+, so it’s kind of a big deal. It seems like Disney is wanting to get even more eyeballs on its Marvel series, especially for those people who may not subscribe to Disney+. It could also entice new subscribers to sign up for the other Marvel shows on the streaming service.

It’s also possible that this is related to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike since production on many shows and movies has come to a halt.

The series follows Kamala Khan, a Muslim teenage girl obsessed with Captain Marvel, who comes into superpowers of her own. However, the series actually sets up the next big Marvel movie, The Marvels, which will bring Kamala Khan together with Captain Marvel and Monica Rambeau (who we first saw in the WandaVision series on Disney+). Disney may also be using ABC to get more hype for that upcoming movie.

Ms. Marvel has also been nominated for several 2023 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Picture Editing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie, Outstanding Music Composition For A Limited Or Anthology Series, Movie Or Special, and Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.
