Disney is always marking some kind of birthday or anniversary.

Disney World just spent 18 months celebrating its 50th anniversary. Disney’s Animal Kingdom just celebrated its 25th birthday. The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary right now. Disneyland will be celebrating a birthday soon, too – it’s 68th. Now we know how Disneyland plans on celebrating that milestone!

The gates of Disneyland originally opened on July 17th, 1955, which means that July 17th, 2023 will mark the park’s 68th birthday! Disneyland’s visitors will get to celebrate, too, if they’re heading to the park on that day. First up, they’ll get to see a celebratory cavalcade with Mickey and his friends at 11:45AM. These special mini-parades don’t happen every day, so it’s a pretty cool event when we get to see one!

Visitors will be able to join the Dapper Dans, the Disneyland Band, and Disney Ambassadors in singing “Happy Birthday” to Disneyland — they’ll be making stops at “it’s a small world,” on Main Street, U.S.A., and at Town Square.

We’re most excited about a special birthday snack, though! Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe will serve a Disneyland Anniversary Donut. It’s a Vanilla Iced Donut Filled With Cherry Compote and Topped with Whipped Topping and Chocolate Sandwich Cookies.

The good news is that we’ll have a chance to enjoy this treat for a couple of days: from July 15th through July 17th. We love celebrations with FOOD!

Don’t forget that Disneyland is also currently the HOME BASE of the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary Celebration — you’ll find special 100th anniversary decor throughout the park, as well as some celebratory snacks. You can also watch the 100th anniversary fireworks show, “Wondrous Journeys” in Disneyland as well as “World of Color — One” in California Adventure.

Disneyland is just ALL about celebrating right now. While you’re at it, be sure to stop into the Hyperion Theatre in California Adventure to catch Rogers: The Musical, which is running through August 31st.
