When a video game is in early access, it allows developers to release early builds of their games to players eager to try the title, and allow them to offer suggestions or feedback on the in-progress development. Early access titles are normally not released in a complete state, and can change further while in this development period. Sometimes, developers will even offer incentives in the form of cosmetic packs or items in exchange for players paying for early access.
Disney Speedstorm is the first of two Disney video game developed by Gameloft to end its early access period and adopt the free to play model; the second is Disney Dreamlight Valley, a farming and life simulation game in the style of ConcernedApe’s Stardew Valley and Nintendo’s Animal Crossing, featuring Disney characters. Disney Dreamlight Valley is expected to remain in early access until sometime later this year and will also be free to play once officially launched. You can learn more about the game on its official website.
Do you plan on purchasing one of the Disney Speedstorm Founder’s Packs before the early access period ends, or will you wait until the game is free to play to try it out? If you’ve been playing already, do you have a favorite racer? Let us know in the comments.
