Construction walls have been removed from the entrance to Villain-Con Minion Blast at Universal Studios Florida.
Villain-Con Minion Blast Entrance
Construction walls were previously moved from around the side of the building, but were still up in front of the attraction’s entrance.
Now there is a temporary fence and rolling planter around the entrance. Crew members were putting the finishing touches on a safety warnings sign. The Express entrance sign remains covered.
The entrance safety warnings are up — this is also where the queue wait time will be displayed.
Here is the “Attraction Entrance” sign, asking visitors to Villain-Con to “maintain an orderly line.”
To the left of the entrance is a mural featuring Minions dressed as different villains from the franchise.
“Welcome to Villain-Con” is above them.
Through the entrance, we can see some of the queue with Villain-Con murals and banners.
“It’s that time of year again” and “So much fun, it’s a crime” are visible on walls.
Team Members have been testing Villain-Con Minion Blast and we shared spoiler-free first impressions and details of the attraction, as well as a spoiler-full walkthrough of the ride.
Villain-Con Minion Blast
Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast is a moving walkway stand-through shooting attraction that will use screen technology, gaming interactivity, and physical sets. Guests will put their villainous skills to the test in these immersive environments to become the next member of the Vicious 6. Guests will be able to keep track of their scores and compete against each other.
Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast is taking the place of the now-defunct Shrek 4D attraction at Universal Studios Florida. You can take a final look at Shrek 4D before the closure in our post here and the closing night crowds in our post here.
At this time, we still don’t have an opening date for Illuminations’ Villain-Con Minion Blast. Are you looking forward to the new Villain-Con experience opening at Universal Studios Florida? Stay tuned to Universal Parks News Today for all the latest updates and full coverage of the opening of Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast this summer.
Minion Land at Universal Studios Florida
Minion Land has taken over most of Production Central, transforming it into Illumination Avenue. Minion Café has replaced the former Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe, and is joined by Bake My Day, Freeze Ray Pops, and Pop-A-Nana. You can take our full tour of Minion Café and check out all of the Bake My Day merchandise and treats. Read our Minion Land food reviews, too:

The attractions are the pre-existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and the upcoming Villain-Con Minion Blast. The façade of Despicable Me Minion Mayhem was recently refurbished.
The Minions and other Illumination characters have meet-and-greets outside Illumination Theater.
The back of the Transformers: The Ride show building has been painted teal blue to match the new land.
An entirely different Minion Land also exists at Universal Studios Beijing. However, at Universal Studios Japan, Minion Park is yet another separate land, with a clone under construction at Universal Studios Singapore. A different version of Minion Café exists at Universal Studios Hollywood.
